January Window Speculation

Other names which keep popping up.

James Maddison of Norwich, this looks an interesting one as we wanted him when Norwich loaned him to Coventry. Seems City and Spurs are sniffing round him too.

I think the Internet would crash if he was Coutinho's replacement.

The Guardian highlighted him as one of the Championship players Premier league clubs should be interested in.

That's all I know about him.

So Keita's not coming early, Goretzka's off to Bayern and Allison is staying at Roma at least until summer. Valuation for Lemar is too high, so doubt we'll be desperate to get him in 2 weeks time when the transfer window closes.

With no other concrete rumours that make sense at the moment, we're not signing anyone else this month are we?

We might get Steven Caulker on loan

There been some rumours about Malcom in Bordeux, don't know anything about him

That's probably fueled by his own manager saying "If Liverpool come today, you work for them tomorrow", which is baffling from a negotiating perspective, unless they're trying to drive up the price before selling to Arsenal.

Exactly this..and nothing else.

Sanchez now the highest-paid player in the Premiership, 4.5 year deal £14m a year after tax?!

Lordy.

Great player and guaranteed goals, but it's a HUGE financial commitment for a 29 year old

I think that there's a good chance Sanchez pulled out from City more so than them ... He probably (and rightly?) wants to play every single game ... How can he do so if they have Aguero, Jesus, Sane, Sterling etc? He'd be rotated ... at Manure, he'll play every game.

I don't.

James Maddison of Norwich

Good player - to be Franklin, I'd be in a Rush to get him - not a great constitution by all accounts, and certainly not one for the centre, but he'd look to knit everyone together, and possibly a decent defensive mid.

Walcott on a 3 and a half year deal for £20m seems odd. Player reluctance or club reluctance?

Hmm, dunno. Doubt it would be Walcott, he's hardly likely to be using The Bitters as a stepping stone to a big move, given he's 28, hardly played this season and has had an injury-ravaged career.

It could be a great signing for Everton, if he can replicate his best form and stay fit. He had a very good season last year, scoring 19 goals from the wing, and importantly got 10 league goals in only 28 starts. That's impressive stats for a winger.

More importantly for Everton, he gives them two things that every side needs: pace and goal-threat. They're so fucking slow he could make a big difference.

Also, various papers reporting Sanchez will pocket 500k p/w at Utd after tax on a £14m deal.

He's not that good is he?

Theo Smallcock, Liverpool fan gone to Everton

Still 20million is somewhat a bargain if they can keep him fit
