Linked with Lukaku and Pablo Hernandez today. Both would be excellent.

HA HA ... no chance man ...
[/quote]

It's in the Mirror. 15m + add ons for Lukaku.

Also mentioned that Hazard is not interested in coming to Anfield.

Yah I saw that - I would be really happy if we were getting one of the brightest talents in football ... Surprised if it will happen tbh.

But the Hazard link is why I think the Lukaku story is BS. All reports have said he would rather come to us or Arsenal - and if were in for Lukaku, that would push our 'value' up in his eyes obviously too.

If we get Lukaku and Hazard, I promise to not pick on Brendan anymore.

Newly installed caretaker manager Kenny Dalglish and Director of Football Damien Comolli have reportedly been busy drawing up plans for the January transfer window and are keen on making moves for Benfica full back Fabio Coentrao, Stoke City centre back Ryan Shawcross and Utrecht striker Ricky Van Wolfswinkel.
Portuguese international Coentrao is attacting a lot of interest and is thought to be a player that Comolli rates very highly and given Benfica’s poor showing this season, eight points behind leaders Porto, Liverpool may feel they can persuade the 22 year old wing back to push for a move.
Dutch international Ricky Van Wolfswinkel is a player that has interested the Merseyside club for a few months now and some sources suggest that an offer of around £8.5m was made for the Utrecht man and Liverpool appear willing to up that original offer in order to beat off interest from Napoli in the prolific Eredivisie striker.
Liverpool had been strongly linked with Stoke City defender Robert Huth but apparently his team-mate, and former Man United player, Ryan Shawcross is also a player the Anfield side is keen on bringing in to help stabilize an error prone defence.
Dalglish and Comolli will be looking to find ways to bring in realistic targets in January so as to help the club salvage something from a season that has been truly woeful but they will also be looking to bring in players who are there for the long term and will therefore only be looking to buy players in the relatively early stages of their careers and these three fit that bill and would not require the club’s owners to fork out excessive amounts of money in the process.

i'd have fabio and ricky. Shawcross is a solid defender who will only get better, but i'd rather give wilson the chance

Coentrao would cost a fortune. I can't see us spending £20m on a full-back again, and I also can't see him choosing us over Chelsea/Real Madrid.

Benfica are in serious financial trouble, so you never know what kind of deal that could be agreed. But he'll be expencive.

How good is he really?

I know he's been quite impressive for Portugal... but whenever I've seen Benfica, David Luiz has been at LB. What's his club form like?

Twatter is full of Suarez to Liverpool. ESPN journo in London reporting it, probably bollocks.

Would be exciting if true though.

I loved Coentrao at the world cup. He was linked to everyone from City to Madrid and I presumed we we're out of the running. Would love this to happen.

ricky is injured right? What happened to the striker that Kenny scouted earlier, toivonen?

All gone quiet on marveaux as well, thought he was at Anfield for an imminent move?

Marvaeux is injured for the next 6 months as he needs a op on his groin.

Won't be signing him this transfer window I reckon.

Palermo own Cavani though so i'm sure they will take him back. Why on earth was he loaned out?

No idea, with Pastore and Ilicic behind him they'd easily have one of the best attacks in the country.

Lifted from TLW today..

Luis Suarez signing tomorrow according to a few people:

Liverpool are set to sign Luis Suarez, subject to a medical, tomorrow morning. #lfc less than a minute ago via Echofon

Michael da Silva (mjdasilva) on Twitter

He's a journalist from London, according to someone on RAWK.

More info from TIA:

"Whisper making it's round on the Italian based tweeters I follow is that a fee has been agreed with Suarez and that he'll have a medical tomorrow. No idea how much truth there is in it or even which Suarez it is or why the Italian people have picked it up but thought I may as well post it here."

Also a poster on RAWK reckons we are close to signing Ashley Young and Alexis Sanchez (whoever the fuck he is).

He's available for £17million, we should be all over him.

My head would explode with joy if we signed him.

I'd rather we signed him at £17mil than Young at £14mil

He's now removed it

To be clear, I did not start any Suarez rumours!! Plenty floating about before my Tweet. Apologies if I have toyed with anyone's emotions. about 9 hours ago via web from London, England

Yeah I saw that.

Regarding Cavani, Napoli have loaned him for the season with the option to buy for a set price. He'll join them no doubt.

I can't believe we weren't in for him, as he is a fucking excellent striker. 13 goals in 19 games in Serie A this season.

Suarez reminds me of a poor mans Tevez which isn't a bad thing I suppose.

Suarez, Young and Sanchez would be an outrageous Jan windown.

no chance of it happening ...

For some reason, I'm a bit worried about Suarez. He should be great then! 😉

I'm positive Suarez would be excellent in the PL.

I'd be so happy if we signed him...perhaps happier than when we signed Torres.

Tony Barrett just said on a webchat for the Times that he also had heard rumours about Suarez. Macia and Comolli have been to several Ajax games.

17 mill £ is a good deal for him.

I really hope FSG makes a statement of intent and sign a classy player.

I always think a statement of intent = a showy waste of money transfer.

And I don't see them doing that.
