His stats are 17 goals in 80 games, big meh there, but he is only 20, and he looked a bit like a faster version of Firmino in that video if I'm honest. Indifferent towards this link, obviously that'll change to unadulterated joy if we do actually sign him.

His assist stats would be a lot better if his teammates could fucking shoot. Some awful misses in that video.

Having only watched highlights of Brandt I can't say whether he would be any good, etc. However, the clips show he is quite comfortable in possession - Infact he appears to glide over the surface - and intelligent in his interchange with other players. I think he would fit in well with our current style but whether he can adapt/take us to another level is the bigger issue.
I personally would like to see a signing or two of this calibre but also the use of some of our talented youth. Their energy and fearlessness in my opinion would be ideal. Unfortunately my best example of this would be Macheda at Utd...

He is no reus

I think he has a chance to be as good as Reus or Muller – not a guarantee, obviously, but out of all young German attacking players that I've been following him and Leroy Sane are the two that I would most confidently bet on becoming top players.

BTW his stats are very similar or better to Reus's at the same age: Reus scored 8 and assisted 4 in his first full Bundesliga season at age 20-21, Brandt scored 9 and assisted 5 at age 19-20, but this season he scores less and assists more – 2 and 6 in the first half. His size is a major advantage.

Between him and Max Meyer, who do you think is more fuckingawesome, and why?

I like both, but one reservation I have about Max Meyer is that he could develop into a "neat and tidy" player type (same danger as our own Brannagan, for example), in other words a player who makes good decisions and has solid technique, but doesn't quite have an extra physical or technical "edge" to take him into the elite echelon of players. Brandt seems like a more unusual type – a big lad with pace and technique and also a good football brain and I think it's a bit more likely this combination of qualities will give him an edge.

That being said, I do like Meyer – he is a bit like young Coutinho with his directness and playmaking ability, but will he develop enough attacking threat as he matures?
