[article]Watford are considering a summer move for the Liverpool pair Joe Allen and Jordon Ibe as they seek to capitalise on the players’ frustrations at Anfield.[/article]

We'll get 8-10 for Joe Allen, probably 5-10 range for Ibe ...

I'd rather we keep both though - Joe Allen is a very capable CM when healthy, and unless Klopp is confident Stewart or one of the kids can replace his minutes, not worth selling. Ibe has potential ... and can be a really good player ... Would be odd to give up on him now.

Both can go, if we want to compete we need better players than the likes of Joe Allen..

IBE, i'd send out on loan.. could be player there long term...

Klopp already bought Grujic and still seems to be in the market for another CM (Zielinsky, Paredes?). He's also given a new contract to Stewart and clearly rates Brannagan. Can, Hendo and probably Milner are not going anywhere. So it seems more likely to me right now that if we buy another CM, both Allen and Lucas would have to make way.

Our midfield next season:
Can
Henderson
Milner
[possibly a new CM]

and youngsters/rotation:
Grujic
Brannagan
Stewart

Too early to give up on Ibe - I'd like to see him stay and get over this tough period for him. Sterling had a bit of a rough patch of about 9 to 10 months spanning the second half of his first season (12/13) until November / December of the 13/14 season, and then came out really strong after that. Hopefully Ibe's just run into the same proverbial second year wall.

I like Allen, but his knack for picking up injuries when he hits good form is really unhelpful, so I suppose this is a good move for both parties.

Strange the rumour mill has been rather quiet about Lucas, who similarly has a year left on his contract and hasn't been offered an extension (well, as far as I know). I don't think Klopp sees him as a regular starter, so we should be hearing some noises - perhaps in the summer - about clubs being interested in the player. Unless Lucas has decided that he'll just finish his last year here and get his testimonial game (10th season in 16/17, same as Skrtel).

I see Rossiter is out of contract. I thunked he was gonna be good, unlucky with injuries and treated awfully by England. Those who know these things... is he finished at Liverpool?

I don't see any benefit to keeping Allen. Its only justifiable if his next contract matches his contribution - he's a sub and should be paid as same.
And he also has to keep looking like Pirlo.

Ibe - I think we need pace in the team and he's got it. Unless Klopp is absolutely certain he's not going to amount to anything then i see no reason to sell.

If we could lash some sort of buy back clause in with Ibe I'd let him go. Knock a bit of the price and they might agree to it.

Joe Allen isn't good enough to start in Liverpool's midfield, and never has been. We need a new defensive midfielder.

I wouldn't be surprised if Rodgers makes an attempt to bring Allen back to Swansea in summer

Rossiter's certainly still rated and wanted at Anfield. I gather there were secondary problems after he did his hammy and his recuperation has been been slowed down to be on the safe side, but he's training okay now and Klopp invited him to Tenerife with the others.

I don't know for sure, but I get the impression that, in the post-Sterling culture of the club, FSG don't want to be seen to be a soft touch for the youngsters and their agents, and Rossiter's agent has peed them off by actively getting other clubs to buzz about his client rather than concentrate on talking about a new deal. Also, Rossiter is seen to be slightly coy about his intentions: from being a very bright kid who seemed committed to the club in a Carra-like way, more recently he's struck some as a bit evasive, and maybe a bit of trust has been eroded. I don't think there's a breakdown - Klopp still wants him, Rossiter seems to still want too stay, but the club's not going to back down with its plans for a contract designed to keep him grounded. What his agent does is another matter.

With the British premium and the new tv deal, we should be expecting 15 million plus (each) for both players

On a business level, if I was his agent I'd defo be getting other clubs to buzz him, he's gonna be unemployed in 2 months. Would be a shame if he left though.

Sure. But the agent started doing that after the club asked to open talks at the start of the season. That dragged on with Adey Ward-style delays and evasions until December, when the club lost patience.
