"It's complicated"? -- No it isn't, fuck off Barca - £113 Million bid rejected

@BrazilStat: Tite has dropped #Coutinho from Brazil's starting lineup. The Liverpool man has not featured in any competitive game this season. #BRAECU
That is perfect. Now he has no choice but to knuckle down if he wants to get his place back.

Just seen on SSN that the English (Scottish, Italian and French) window closes at 23:00 BST tomorrow, whereas the Spanish window stays open until Friday 23:00 BST

Not all over tomorrow then.
If we've not sourced a replacement, you honestly believe we'll sell when we can do nothing about it?

Behave

Deadline by 11pm tomorrow. He's going nowhere unless we've got lemar chambermaid in

Liverpool insist Philippe Coutinho will stay and playmaker's future does not affect transfer deadline day deals

The Merseyside club insist that their stance on Coutinho has not changed and that he will not be sold this summer

Liverpool remain adamant that Philippe Coutinho will not be sold this summer and that prospective deals for either Thomas Lemaror Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are not dependent on players leaving the club.
Coutinho is set to remain on Merseyside beyond Thursday’s deadline despite attempting to force through a move to Barcelona by handing in a transfer request earlier this month.
The Catalan club themselves have seen three bids for Coutinho rejected out of hand by Liverpool, whose stance on the 25-year-old’s future has been clear and consistent throughout.
Liverpool’s decision to revive their interest in Monaco winger Thomas Lemar over the weekend led to suggestions that the club had acceded to Coutinho’s wishes and were now willing to let him leave.
However, Anfield officials insist there has been no change in their definitive position and that the club does not need to sell players in order to buy.

Lemar, a highly-rated 21-year-old attacking midfielder who impressed during Monaco’s run to the Champions League semi-finals last season, is understood to be Liverpool’s priority attacking target.
Arsenal winger Oxlade-Chamberlain, who has one year remaining on his contract at the Emirates, is also being considered following his decision to turn down a £35m move to champions Chelsea.

Without sounding facetious, I genuinely don't know who or what to believe with Coutinho and this transfer

I generally err on the side of optimism and giving people the benefit of the doubt, so au suppose I have to think that article is legit

Even though I still expect him to leave

There have been very consistent noises coming from the club and the media with close links to the club. The histrionics in the Catalan press and Coutinho's undoubtedly extreme actions in the saga (for a generally quiescent personality), suggest a level of frustration borne from the fact that they have been getting no encouragement from the club. I could be wrong, and have been before, but all the signs are that we do not plan on selling.

I have a feeling that he's gone, but I won't be certain of it until a resident Liverpool journo says anything different, Bascombe, Pearce etc.

He's leaving mate.
Let's move on and ensure the Lemar Camp Site is ready for the next 24 hours.

Barca enquiring for Lemar suggests to me they are not getting anywhere with lfc. Why jepordise a potential deal between lfc and Lemar if you know that Lemar joining them will mean you land your target.
I don't think they've had many conversations at all and Barca are pissed off.

The tweet from Peter Moore suggests the same imo, if the club were thinking about selling at a certain price he wouldn't bother to respond via twitter at all. The way he responds suggests the club have no intention of selling him this summer

I think neither of Liverpool, Barcelona or Coutinho know what's happening.

If we could guarantee Lemar, VVD, and Ox in and maybe one more, and the cost is too much, they may let Couts go to finance the deals... We're not going to play him anyway. There are just too many interlocking parts to this one.

They can offer him plus cash for Coutinho 😀

the club have been consistent. If we do sell, we won't be able to believe them ever again, no matter the cover reason given.

The hierarchy here who seem to have some ITK knowledge from Piedro seem to be convinced he's going, but in ignorance of this, I'm in agreement that all the signs suggest he's staying.

South American footie correspondent Tim Vickery claims he's heard Coutinho's entourage are saying the deal is done, but LFC don't want it known until they've brought in other players. And that the Spanish window is open until Friday. Then again, I often think he just reads local papers and then repeats it as 'research' to English radio stations.

Just a thought, but maybe we knew of Barca's interest in Lemar, so let it be known we are pursuing him too to make them play their hand so we can keep Countiho. Or something. I don't know, my brain is scrambled.

If we sign Lemar and Ox then you'd have to think we're selling the little rat cunt. I wagered a tenner to someone who likes to needle about Liverpool (never says a word to me about football when we're winning) that it wouldn't happen, so this will be personally disappointing.

He lost a bit of his mojo after his scouting report of Lucas.

I still think he will stay.

But its nothing but hope.

I like EVERYONE ELSE have no clue.

If we keep and sign the others fucking hell though what a window, what a squad.

to be honest if I were Coutinho - i would be thinking - ok so Barca have an aging Suarez, an aging Messi, and a young me, and a grandad in midfield - I don't really know anyone else in that team - even the fucking manager they have is a mystery. Why am I so keen to leave LFC ? - come on you little cunt - stay with us.

Lifestyle, weather, language and family are probably big factors too for him

Yeah one of the things that really hit home for me was Rafa settling his family here (in Liverpool) and not making a fuss of the climate and lesser 'stature'. London, Paris, Rome, Milan, Barcelona and Madrid may seem more sexy but happiness can be built anywhere
