"It's complicated"? -- No it isn't, fuck off Barca - £113 Million bid rejected

Why do we bother making an official statement though? Klopp in his interviews was clear enough. Besides, the timing of its release is perplexing too (a bit like "hey, windows closing, CL qualifier round the corner, we have no time to bring in replacement so leave us alone ok"). May have missed it but didn't see the likes of Arsenal, Leipzig and Southampton make such official club statements. Are we expecting some form of apology from Barca like the one we made to Southampton? Anyway, do we truly believe such statement works?

The statement Leipzig should make is that noone should take Ragnick's comments as the Clubs Public view on matters.

Regardless of whether he's put in a request or not I don't see why the clubs stance should change. I would be very surprised if the transfer request (if True) was instigated by Barcelona as a last ditch attempt to force the move just like Van Dijk did.

It's times like this that one will appreciate Ragnick though. A bit like the type of players you hate from the opposition team but would love if he's on your side. Sigh...

Well as I said, if you have to say it, say it right at the start: 'Well, they can forget all about THAT!' And that leaves Klopp to say they're all singing from the same hymn sheet. Doing it a day before the season starts after more than a month of watching the thing fester, only for it to become painfully clear that the club is not in control of the situation at all, just looks appalling.

Yup, more like doing it with a purpose or hidden agenda than a real stance.

Not sure about others but currently, I'm more frustated with the handling of affairs (boardroom and TC level) at the club than the prospect of losing Coutinho. Players come and go but the decision makers impact the club much more and further.

We need to ask Barca for an amount of money that would tempt another club to sell us a suitable replacement this late in the window. How much it cost to tempt Redbull to give up Keita or Spurs to give up Alli? 200mill?

Do you believe this? I know SSN is saying this but nobody close to the club is giving it the slightest credence.
Well it's one of either three things.

1. There's no transfer request.

2. There is a transfer request, the club got wind of it & released that statement beforehand to keep their hand as strong as possible, & have told all staff & pr people he's going nowhere for the same reason.

3. There is a transfer request, but the hacks contacts & usually LFC reporters are unaware of it as its not long gone in. If Coutinho's agent is running this he could have called SSN direct to tell them as he submitted it.

If the lizards want to keep him it's simple. John Henry just needs to say 'Amicable? Fuck off you little shit. You signed for 5 years 5 minutes ago, I'm a fucking billionaire and I can afford to stick you in the stands for a year and still get zillions for you next summer after you've missed a world cup. Now get to training before I fine your little cunt arse' But he won't, because he's a lizard who wants the money.

hahhaha. Yeah I'm sure the close family members of a Brazilian with fucking Micky mouse tattoos on his chest use the phrase 'to no avail'

Get fucked sky / Barca / agent

Yes, I agree completely. They've pretty much made their words worthless for all future transfer matters.

Nah, the owners are just trying to put on a good show. Make him & Barca the bad guys whilst he pockets the cash. Again.

As I said earlier, I can't wait for the open top bus parade of Henry showing the fans his lfc ledger.

Just tried to back him to stay at even money with skybet. Max £40 [emoji23][emoji23] call themselves a bookmaker when it's their cronies spouting the shit

Why would the club deny him handing in a transfer request ? It would only make them look like cunts in the end .

It also flies totally I. The face of coutinho wanting to leave on good terms when he does go, which has been the theme throughout this whole affair , until about an hour ago...

It seems a remarkable coincidence that it comes hours after the club statement though.

Either the request triggered the statement, or the statement triggered the request?

The echo comments about him trying to force a move through other means is odd though.

I'm wondering if he's gone from saying he's unfit to play, to saying he won't play cos he's too unsettled.

The club, thoroughly pissed off tells Barca to piss off using that statement.

His agent then puts the transfer request story out to SSN to show how unsettled he is, cos let's face it, he wouldn't say Phil is refusing to play.

If Coutinho and the club were in agreement then they would put out a joint statement and not a shitty photoshop. He's defo pushing for a move, official transfer request (whatever that means) or not.

What happened to the whole amicable stance?
The problem with amicable stances is that they only remain amicable if both sides get what they want. My theory on this whole situation is that he did hand in a transfer request this morning, and our reaction was the statement. Not sure why we'd subsequently deny it though. Hope we follow Uniteds lead on this and deny the transfer regardless, it's world cup year and Coutinho isn't a cunt, he won't down tools.
