"It's complicated"? -- No it isn't, fuck off Barca - £113 Million bid rejected

100%. I'd rather Coutinho, but if he goes, Asensio has amazing potential and Isco ran the show v United

Don't get me wrong... But Coutinho is pretty much dictating our offensive game.... And throwing some spanish kid, no matter the potential, into that deep is not fair to the kid nor the club. These two guys have no PL experience and it's plenty examples of players with potential taking time. This is the make or brake season for us were we should take the next step. Failing even top four would just put us in nomansland for the forseeable future. This is our most important season "ever" and we should get sone spanish kid to take that responsibility? Nope. Coutinho is going nowhere.... And the spanish kids can stay for another year.

Coutinho's agent is defo gonna have his players back strain acting up for the Watford game now.
I know the club and Klopp's stance is that he's not for sale, which is fair enough, but there is a point at which they have to sell, e.g 10 billion. I wonder what that point is for the club. I hope it's somewhere where Barca aren't willing to go.

LFC have rejected bid of 100m euros for Coutinho from Barca. Barca have been told (again) he’s not for sale. LFC consider the matter closed…

fucking barca.
fuck them those thundercunts.
i'm just surprised we haven't heard messi or mascherano bleat on about 'Coutinho being a Barca type of player' ... fuck them.

What are they smoking over there? €100m when we can't sign Keita or Van Dijk for €70m

Double it at this stage of the window. Then maybe we might consider it.

We really are trying to be Barcelona. They lowball too.

At least we had the decency to offer well over market rate when we were chasing a player who wasn't for sale. Who the fuck do Barca think they are trying to low ball for a player that we're actively saying isn't for sale and hasn't agitated for a move?

We're not selling him this window, which is a nice big fuck you to those muppets at the Nou Camp.

I dont get why we dont say yeah you can have him... For €300m

Dortmund just priced Dembele out the market by saying it'll cost €135m to sign him. Surely a stupid twatty fee would set the bar nice and high

Exactly. They got their pants pulled down when PSG paid the 'unpayable' release fee. If they want Coutinho then they need to blow our socks off with a bid.

And then we still tell them to fuck off. Stupid bastards putting a release clause in, serves them right.

I guess that's the difference right there, whereas Suarez when we sold him had already shown his high levels we still need Coutinho to 'go up another level' to be seen in the same light and to have the same importance for us.

As said I dont want us to sell him mainly because we'd struggle to replace him knowing us. Just a bit surprised with his value.

I think a lot of fans would have been ok with the sale if it was 120m on July 1st and we had time to bring in replacements.

Doing it now for any money is suicide for this season.

Cheeky bastards aren't they. Receiving a full £200m from selling Neymar yet they want to spread payments like we're fucking DFS. Errr no dickheads

The only time he wasn't consistent was when he came back from injury. A month after that he was back to business.
On that note, I get the feeling people can give the likes of Lallana all the time in world but Coutinho is scrutinized as soon as he has a few bad games.
The poll we had about keeping him off the team comes to mind, while when Lallana got injured towards the final months of last season people went bonkers. How many games has that guy won us compared to Lallana?

Vastly different expectations

There weren't any. One or two (including Dreamy, big surprise there) said we might be. That's it. This is just part of your anti-Lallana campaign, itself part of your insistence that all English players are overrated, and it got very, very boring a very long time ago.

In fairness if we lose any of our quality attacking talent we are fucked.

We will need to be extremely lucky with injuries from here on in after Lallana's

I know the club feel a dignified silence is best, but personally I think that's a thing of the past, alas. They need to get stuff out there. Nothing too over-eager, but respond to stories before they blossom, get a statement out there, have a bit of control, because, in this twitter sphere, you otherwise end up a vetrilloquist's dummy. By standing back during this saga they've just encouraged all the fictions.

It does baffle me why so many clubs do allow the social media storms to rage when employing just a couple of people to manage the message would make a massive difference in perception and, i'm sure, drive better loyalty and, ultimately, higher sales.

These are businesses that still use fax machines. The idea of employing people to influence twitter (or simply paying for a company to use bots to ramp up numbers & push the message they want) is slightly beyond them.

The headline is slightly misleading. Almost EVERY club is a selling club. Look at Juventus and even United.

The prestige in being South American and playing for Madrid is oversold. How many South Americans get a game for Madrid? Marcelo? Anyway I've digressed.

The only way I'd sell is €100 million plus Luis Suarez. Otherwise they can fuck off coming to us just before the start of the season playing this kind of bull shit.
