I guess that's the difference right there, whereas Suarez when we sold him had already shown his high levels we still need Coutinho to 'go up another level' to be seen in the same light and to have the same importance for us.Yeah its just you. The guy is hugely talented and will be our playmaker this season. I think his game will go up another level this season.
Hope we get Barca in the Group stage and Hendo breaks every one of those cunts legs.
Last season Coutinho finally showed consistency. No one is comparing coutinho with suarez. The reason why i said i think he will go up a level is because he will be given more responsibility as our playmaker where i think he will thrive.I guess that's the difference right there, whereas Suarez when we sold him had already shown his high levels we still need Coutinho to 'go up another level' to be seen in the same light and to have the same importance for us.
As said I dont want us to sell him mainly because we'd struggle to replace him knowing us. Just a bit surprised with his value.
The only time he wasn't consistent was when he came back from injury. A month after that he was back to business. He wasn't that consistent last season..
The only time he wasn't consistent was when he....
If Coutinho is sold, FSG will be hit with fire and fury, a power the likes of which this world has never seen before.
13 goals and 7 assists in 28 games(3 as sub) is pretty consistent. Obviously he needed games after coming back from injury. He wasn't that consistent last season..

On that note, I get the feeling people can give the likes of Lallana all the time in world but Coutinho is scrutinized as soon as he has a few bad games.
The poll we had about keeping him off the team comes to mind, while when Lallana got injured towards the final months of last season people went bonkers. How many games has that guy won us compared to Lallana?
Admittedly Lallana had a decent season but what I'm questioning is the notion that we somehow can't cope without him. We did absolutely fine without him when he got injured last season and finished the season on a high. He's not absolutely vital to how we play but yes, he does fit in well.We attack as a team, and Lallana was quite handy last season during the Autumn With tireless runs, quick interchanging and setting up chances that drove the opposition mad. Was he as effcient after injuries? Nope, and I know that 2 months on the sidelines efficiently means 3 months before he is up to speed.. So it is a big blow that he is out. But pointing fingers at him for not winning us games in unfair. He contributes well when in form.

We can cope without him. Who is suggesting we can't?

I think he'd be on the bench even if he was fit for the game against Watford though.
Please remind me. Just remember seeing photo's of him sulking on a training pitch alone.
That's no different from us arranging a Trophy parade prior to not actually winning the trophy. I.e Ucl 2007

So you just skipped over all the posts about how we're fucked without him?I did. A number of posters expressed concern but not one single poster in that thread said we couldn't cope without him.
Very decent numbers that but not World Class irreplacable ones.. at least not how I see it.13 goals and 7 assists in 28 games(3 as sub) is pretty consistent. Obviously he needed games after coming back from injury.
It's going to be hard to Trump this post.If Coutinho is sold, FSG will be hit with fire and fury, a power the likes of which this world has never seen before.
That's the shit you build on though. He's just about to reach his prime.Very decent numbers that but not World Class irreplacable ones.. at least not how I see it.
As you say though, if he can build on that, stay injury free etc he's obv worth the +£100M even.
I hope we dont sell him, I do feel however that Barca because of their situation are willing to pay more than he's actually worth even in this market (at least when looking only at was he has achieved on the pitch so far.. ).
That's a great post, but Coutinho is now surrounded by Salah, Mané, Firmino and Sturridge. As long as I've been watching Liverpool, we've had a player whose frustration at the lack of similar ability around them actually expresses itself on the pitch. It's not petulance, or ego, it's just accurate. Coutinho will be the worst of them in my memory, the gulf between him and others not as obvious, and certainly not as consistent, but that's grim comfort, because it underscores how we've slid further into mediocrity.
What I do know is that we had every opportunity to convince him, not in Klopp hugs, or Klopp words, but by putting our money where our mouths are, that this is different, that we have real ambition, that his football can develop further due to even more quality around him. Just some sense that we aren't rotting on the vine, and at least an extra year would hardly be a slog. If he does leave now rather than later, it's squarely on those who have completely fucked up the transfer window thus far. Disturbingly, it's those same men who would have to win out the rest of the dealings to prevent a complete meltdown the likes of which we ... well, it's every couple years really, but some of you miserable bastards seem to still have the heart for it.
