"It's complicated"? -- No it isn't, fuck off Barca - £113 Million bid rejected

FlawlessGlassHousefly-size_restricted.gif

Us rejecting Barca bids.

A simple public comment at the start saying the club won't sell and won't respond again on the subject. It never stops these things but it puts a marker down, undermines some of the invented stories and takes some pressure off a busy manager who is otherwise left to deal with questions on the subject every damned day.

The only thing that worries me about this is that it's not going away. Haven't we at all been clear with Barca about where we stand or are we going, "no" *wink*?

Perhaps we have been clear. But let's face it, it's a good story for the press to keep running regardless - especially the Spanish press which seems to be where most of these 'updates' are coming from.

The press will write what they want to, just like they always have done. Same reason we always get linked to shite like Anderson Talisca by the Portugeezers.

We won't really know either way until the window closes.

The club has progressed, and it's in the Champions League, and it's actively looking to strengthen the squad, so the Torres-style excuse about lack of ambition isn't there either.

I recall you (and others) saying that winning the race for VVD was significant in that it puts a real marker down.

We failed to get him and have so far failed to get anyone else bar Salah.

The club needs to demonstrate what it's about this summer because hard luck stories won't sell our ambition to anyone.

Classic sleight of hand. Barca about to sign Dembele who is clearly a more like-for-like replacement for Neymar (quote 24 hrs old) :

Barcelona are closing in on signing their Neymar replacement: Borussia Dortmund star Ousmane Dembele. French source L’Equipe claim that Barcelona have agreed personal terms with the former Rennes standout for a summer transfer, but are yet to agree a fee with the Bundesliga side for his transfer.

Dembele has been a reported target for Real Madrid, Chelsea and Liverpool this summer but it seems Barcelona are leading the race to sign him. While no fee has been agreed between Barcelona and Dortmund, negotiations are expected to begin at around €100m for the French winger.

And Brazilian, where most of the Spanish press quotes seem to originate from.

Duncan castles et all a few hours back: coutinho training poorly and putting in no effort as he attempts to force through a move to Barcelona

James Pearce an hour ago : coutinho isn't even training as he's having treatment on his back..

Hmm..

so they're fucking with us.

Yeah Duncan Castles is chatting shit, as per. But the talk of Coutinho wanting a move only if it's amicable for both sides is unfortunately true.

That is neither surprising or new news.
I am hopeful that the reported reluctance of Klopp and the owners to sell are correct but as per @Rosco 's theory that might weaken somewhat if suddenly Keita became available for a doable fee

If he trains shit and doesn't want to train, so what. From September 1st, he will be fine. Clubs that don't want to sell have handled this fine and big players like griezman, Kieta etc. Why must we cave in as per usual?

a few thoughts -
* if the media is fucking with me now (i still feel almost 100% certain he'll stay), I wonder what it's doing to the player. Macca is right - come out and say, "I am staying at Liverpool."
* this is a pivotal moment for our club - it really is. We've just got back to the CL, with a fucking good manager, and the cunts' club wants our best player. Can we really afford to let him go? What will that say to US the fans? Will our manager even bother staying if we go against his wishes?
* if we sell him, FSG need to go. There just is no way back from that - and I sincerely hope that is playing in the back of their minds IF Barca make a monster bid.

Fuck me.
Hes not leaving.
This is a none story.
Stop fucking thinking.
Hes our player. Hes going nowhere.

Or we're just delaying the confirmation of the deal until we have some signings sealed to soften the blow

As others have said, Yanks won't do anything until after we have Hoffenheim games. Get knocked out and he's gone. Get through and he stays.
