@bensmithTimes There won't be vast sums for #LFC to spend in the summer and some who have come in may have to go back out

no idea what smith's sources are like but that doesn't make for good reading.*

except adam being sold off.

I can't wait for the inevitable list of players we'll sell and fee's we'll receive.

Not really, no. We sold a shitload of players last summer for peanuts(in football at least) but it didn't stop us spending around £100mil last summer.

actually we recouped a shit load of money. spent 100m but recouped about 70m.

Carroll will stay i think, not least because we won't find a suitable manager.

Get rid of Adam, we already have Shelvey to take his place..

Sell Downing and bring in a winger who can take a fucking man on.

Adam 3
Carroll 10
Henderson 5
Downing 7
Kuyt 5
Johnson 10

Who can we bring in for 40m?

if kenny does sell his own signings I wonder if it will be meet with ridicule (for wasting money) or respect (for swiftly moving on poor buys)?

I don't think that's close to the truth.

I'm not sure if we've ever spent more than about 20-30m in a window(net)

I think our net spend is something like £40m under the new owners and for a Club that's not in the Champions League, that's a considerable amount of money.

We shouldn't be buying so many players every window anyway, if Kenny is still here he should make do with most of his signings.

Maybe it's necessary financially but if the current squad has looked a bit weak this season this strategy isn't going to strengthen us for next season.

Just to add to our current woes and the list of who needs replacing, I think Reina will leave in the summer and we'll be using a current reserve keeper next season.

I'd keep all our signings, even though its painful too

They cant be this bad next season plus with 1 or 2 quality additions they could be useful squad players

definately of the same opinion. for instance, no way on this earth is downing going to go two seasons in a row with no league goals/assists.

It would surprise me. He's talked so much about believing in 'the project' it would be quite a turnaround.

I doubt Ben Smith has heard anything reliable. Tony Barrett said on TLW a week or so ago that the reason the hacks are so edgy these days is because they're not getting the tiniest bit of info from inside the club, and I expect that to continue as far as transfer plans are concerned.

Has he been so enthusiastic in the last few months though? Something seems to be missing in his performances and once the spotlight is off and the season is over, if his agent is pushing offers in front of him from CL-qualified teams it mightn't take much to persuade him to slip away quietly.
