Masher doesn't shoot that often. And I must say I'm quite surprised by how many people have nominated him.

Masher would be my pick, although he is a great defensive midfielder, I'm not nor will I ever be a fan of the defensive midfielder who cannot use the ball, I think the position is only viable if a team has top class wingers, which we dont and dont look like getting. I think we would be better served having someone with better ball skills and sacrafice the defensive cover somewhat.

Carra is a top class defender but needs a ball playing/excellent positioning centre back with him (Sami, Agger) or he can tend to look lost on the ball and get caught flat footed when his partner is caught out of position. Cant not like him though as he makes the most of what he's got.

On another note, seeing as my personal favorite Alonso moved on in the summer, I have moved my man crush onto Kuyt, you cant help but admire a man with no obvious technical talent who has made himself into a hugely effective attacking player through sheer will alone, very rare for an attacker

He's also the guy who tore their midfield a new @rsehole last season. They HATE playing against him - all the top teams do. There'll be bugger all point in improving our results against the lesser sides who park the bus against us if we just start losing to the top teams instead.

Exactly. That's why i like him. He is a proper twat though...no doubt.

I appreciate being talented can mean being big headed, but his book is a testement to his lack of respect for other players. There are other players who are extremely talented and don't appear cunts. Kaka springs to mind
I read his book too, mate, and other than a few cringe-worthy sections, typical of athletes when the "write" books, I didn't put it down thinking "Jeepers, what a cnut our skipper is".

If you sincerely think he's a cnut, I'd suggest that you may have set out to reach that conclusion...
its just stuff i've heard from my time as a steward. Just didn't have time for people and generally had an attitude to the simple fan who just wanted an autograph. I get doing it all the time must be annoying, but ffs these people pay his wages. They cheer his name through the good and bad times, yet he doesn't acknowledge that without the fans there would be no "stevie g"

Babel because he is lazy and brainless, I can't even bring myself to bring him off the bench when playing pro evo or FIFA on the Xbox because even virtual Babel annoys me.

I'm of the opinion that he should trust his teammates less.

Seriously like, fucking squaring it to Voronin when he's standing 10 yards from goal. He'd be better off giving it to Bubba, the two-legged amputee from Forrest Gump.

That was Lieutenant Dan, Buba was the bloke that was obsessed by shrimps.

Carragher. Mostly because people think he can't do anything wrong, despite numerous own goals and mistakes. To be honest, I wouldn't mind if he's replaced by either Skrtel or Agger during the season.
x 2 ... also he is over rated on this site just because he is a local boy when clearly skrtel and agger should be our new MAIN CB parntership
How does the fact that neither of them have hardly ever been fully fit at the same time so we've rarely seen how they work together make it clear that they should be the main CB pairing?
Im saying when carra, srktel and agger are all fit at the same time they should be the starting CB's. They are younger, and are quicker and dont play hoofball like carra. Also dont make as many mistakes and score as many own goals as carra.. i just dont like carragher and i dont rate him as highly as most on this site do

Well, that's all I need to hear, mate.

Your dislike of the bloke is colouring your opinion... We don't know if Agger and Skrtel will even work together well, as they've spent so little time playing alongside each other. And really, the "own goal" stuff is simply rubbish, mate. How many last ditch tackles or blocks have saved certain goals over the course of Carra's career? FAR more than he's knocked in himself...

Skrtel purely because he's taking Agger's place in the team when he plays, so when Skrtel's name is on the team sheet Agger's isn't which is a travesty..

I had a similar dislike for Morientes because he was playing when Cisse ought to have been - now I realise niether should've and we'd have been better off starting with 10 men..

No, it isn't. Agger's got the potential to be one of the best anywhere, but that's all it is at the moment. Skrtel's not the finished product yet either, but Agger has not outshone him playing for us.

There's only person at the club I really can't take to no matter how hard i try.

Rafa Benitez.

I'm less critical of Rafa than you are, but he's never struck me as likeable.
I'm overly critical because i just can't see anything about him as being likeable.

I can't honestly name a player currently in the squad that I just can't take to. Keane and Crouch were the obvious targets previously but I did come around to Crouch a bit in the end.

Tom and George for me. Rafa may piss me off at times but I do believe he has the best interests of the club at heart whereas the other two jokers only have their own.

What he said.

I tell you what, Spidey is increasingly getting to DreamBeliever levels of annoyance on here. How many times must he be told he's talking shite, before he takes a step back and listens?

Keni got it spot on; far too many of you started listing gripes and irritartnts, rather than downright dislike.

Oncy - apologies chief. Didn't realise I was going to unleash such bile.

I am not a Lucas hater, and there is a lot of reasons why I still see potential in him, but this playing him like he's worthy of having a undroppable label is really getting me annoyed. WHERE THE HELL IS SPEARING? The guy seems like he has the tools to really break through. He is a much better passer and has better physical attributes including he'll get the fans behind him quickly cause he is a real homegrown. At least experiment with Gerrard dropping back or something. This comeback at Bolton again is just a papering over the cracks. We really need to keep on track.

Kuyt. Never been a fan. Far too limited footballer.
At least he works hard unlike the useless Lucas.
How can ANYONE 'not like' Kuyt.
Even in the days when he was shite, i still really 'liked' him.
He's fucking ace.
"I wanted Kuyt, and the yanks.

I'm not too stubborn to admit i was wrong on both counts though. Rafa cant do anything about the Americans, but he can about Deadly. He must he MUST!!!!"

I should add, I don't really want to read your defence of it, Oncy. Brendan called you out on it once before and you explained how you just call it as you see it at the time.

I just can't help but cringe these days when you praise Kuyt. The same way I cringed in the past when you constantly called him a cunt.

Your post in this thread at least justifies why I used to feel that way. I always wondered how you couldn't like him and see what he brought to us.
