A sensational tale from the Metro today who claim that Liverpool have been labelled as favourites to sign Paris St Germain mega star Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Sweden captain is also said to be a target for Premier League rivals Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City but apparently the Reds are leading the way.
Ibrahimovic’s future with PSG was called into question after he called France a s*** country after his side lost to Bordeaux at the weekend,
As talented as he is though, any such move for the 33-year-old would seemingly not sit comfortably with the club owners’ usual transfer policy of recruiting younger players with significant resale value.

The Reds have had pedigree for talented but high maintenance strikers in recent seasons with Luis Suarez departing last season and Mario Balotelli coming in but any move for Ibrahimovic could spell the end for the Italian’s Anfield career.
Reports in the Italian publication Calcio Mercato claim Villarreal striker Luciano Vietto is Brendan Rodgers’ number one summer transfer target.
The 21-year-old Argentinian has been in fantastic form in La Liga this season bagging 12 goals in 25 appearances and is also on the radar of Serie A clubs Inter and Juventus.
Liverpool are also said to be in the race for Hakan Calhanoglu, the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder dubbed ‘the next Emre Can’ according to World Soccer Talk.
The 21-year-old attacking midfielder has already collected 10 goals and eight assists in all competitions this season for the German club.
Calhanoglu is colourfully described as “a free kick monster with an extremely accurate shot.”[/article]
