I wanNaby (Under the sea in an Octopus's Garden in the Shade) - Deal Confirmed

So who are the alternatives? Goretzka? Milinkovic-Savic? Or someone more attack minded, like Lemar?

Like I said earlier in this thread, we have enough midfield options. If the idea was to significantly upgrade midfield quality, and if Keita was the only player Klopp wanted, then it's best to wait a year till his release clause kicks in next summer. No point signing an alternative just for the heck of it. It's not like we have a gaping hole in midfied. Henderson, Can, Wijnaldum, Grujic, Coutinho, Lallana. 6 options for 3 midfield slots. Perhaps none of them are world class, but they're all well above-average.

Meanwhile, go all out for an A grade striker this season. Aubameyang, Mbappe whoever. We'd have a top 5 attack in Europe if we did that.
And none of them is good enough to play DM. Also Goretzka is a better player than all of them except Coutinho. But he isn't the solution either, because he's not that defensive.
If we're looking for a AM /CM type player then Goretzka is perfect.

I've seen people on Twitter saying they're gonna hunt down and kill Graeme if this doesn't happen, so there is that.

He'll be glassed, tared and feathered and killed by the Twitterati if Keita isnt signed.

I wonder, if we bid the 66mill in our usual fashion and that's the problem? 1mill upfront, 5mill over 30years, and 60mill if he wins world player of the for 10yrs running.

You're all fools.

The twatteratti told us last week the deal was done and what would happen next would be a fake tug of war in the media.

That's exactly whats happening.

Leipzig bought Timo Werner for €10 mill last year from newly relegated Stuttgart.
Is it stupid of me to think that Klopp should be fucking monitoring these types of deals. He's bought two players from the German league and both have pretty much been wank. At least Rafa got us Xabi, Garcia and a few wank players. Still...Xabi.
Edit: Was thinking of of Klavan and Karius. Matip is a great signing.

Matip is wank?

I did think we'd get a few players from Dortmund when Klopp arrived. Maybe he fell out with everyone.

If there's 70m quid burning a hole in his pocket I wish he'd go and get Numberwang.

The fact we are putting bids in is a good thing here.... means the dialogue between the clubs is talking about a deal now rather than fuck off mate we aren't selling Naby to you bunch of hobo's

Me, June 2013:

"Talked to a collegue who is an avid Schalke supporter and he considers Matip to be better than Papa."

YAY! We got Matip.

Me, October 2015:

"What excites me with Klopp is that he introduces us to a largely untapped market.

German players like Süle, Goretzka, Meyer, Brandt, Arnold, Klünter, Tah, Werner are surely their next gen stars."

Süle gone to Bayern
Goretzka still at Schalke but is probably out of our reach now due to his excellent perfomance in the Confed cup.
Max Meyer still at Schalke, just won the u21 Euro's with Germany, played really well.
Julian Brandt hopefully on our radar.
Max Arnold, won the U21 Euro's with Germany, selected in the team of the tournament.
Klünter, won the U21 Euro's.
Tah, missed the u21 due to an injury, still a great prospect and within our reach.
Timo Werner, played well for Germany in the Confed cup surely the next Muller.

We're cunts.

I hope we sign Johnny Hewson he know how to play with a Klopp system of tiki tuka.
He also likes the fans because his heart would be there.

I mean : the comments from the Owner dont really marry up with the timeline.

Who is encouraging the bids ? The club or the player/agent ? Its encouraging and i wont read too much into the comments by the RBL owner
