I wanNaby (Under the sea in an Octopus's Garden in the Shade) - Deal Confirmed

Maybe we should stop pissing about. Pay the fucking money and sign the cunt.

Arsenal pay 52m for Lacazette and just get it done, United to pay 75m for Lukaku. City paying what they need to for their players, Everton paying 100m in a week.

Why fuck about? Contact the club, get the price, pay the money and then all go and have nice pint till this blows over.

Its got that same old penny-ante bullshit feel about it. Shades of......well every big signing ever that we fuck up.

Yeah, although I'm not sure there really is an official 'agreed price' despite all the chat about 70m or whatever

Although trying to get there from an opening offer of 45m or whatever, with weekly increases of 5m in 'add-ons' as part of a 'structured deal' isn't likely to work either

Big difference is the stance of the selling club though. And the Lukaku "bid" isnt agreed or anything.

While Lukaku may have a preference for Chelsea, I doubt he'd mind too much if he joined United instead.

Which puts Everton in a nice place to drive his price up, with both clubs in an obvious and well-publicised need for a striker, and endless pots of money to spend on one

With him having 2 years left on his contract, rejecting a new one and have clearly said he wants to leave, I'd say the buying clubs are in a good position.

This could be a press release to get Real to hurry up with the Morata deal for all that we know.
Still think Lukaku will end up at Chelsea. Who for once doesnt seem interested in overpaying for players.

I don't think Utd would release a press statement saying they had agreed a price with Everton, if they hadn't actually done so. Aside from the fact it would make them look ridiculously amateur, Everton would come straight out and quash it.

This is from the BBC:

Manchester United have agreed a fee of around £75m with Everton for striker Romelu Lukaku, senior club sources have told the BBC.
The 24-year-old Belgium international scored 25 Premier League goals last season.
United, who have been chasing Lukaku for most of the summer, will not now be pursuing their interest in Real Madrid's Alvaro Morata.

Everton sources say no deal or agreement has been reached.

Well, yeah. But no press statement has been released, and they wouldn't release one if a fee hadn't been agreed, which it looks as though it hasn't.

But you could be right in that this leak is something of a play towards RM and negotiations for Morata.

Thinking about it, though, I don't give a fuck either way. Fuck 'em!

I disagree. Money talks.
Weve been here before and missed out on our targets.

When have City, Chelsea or United gone after a player and then missed out with the player going elsewhere?

Its rare if ever

We have a history of farting around lowballing, discussing, enquiring and ultimately missing out.

I do know that you view the club, the players and all things LFC through particularly rose tinted spectacles, but its ok to think we fuck things up from time to time hoss.

Because we do. And we might just be doing again here.

It happens all the time. Utd in particular miss out on a host of players and I don't even follow their transfer guff that closely. Alacantra, Bale, Kroos, Robben, Benzema, Mikel Obi Jon, Obi Jon Mikel, Jon Mikel Obi. Just to name a few recent(ish) ones.

It doesn't detract from your point about us, mind.

I dont think they bid for any of them bar the last 3

That's just based of RRs comments at a presser earlier today

Further sensationalising what the bloke actually said

RB pigstick won't sell at any price. Liverpool fans blame FSG on twitter

On to the next target.

Was it Alacantra, Robben or Ronaldinho (or all 3) who made it as fair as their training ground but didn't end up signing for them? Someone surely remembers.

I know I'm going off point here.

Didn't they put a price of 80million euros on him last week?
Of course he's for sale. We just don't want to pay their asking price

Its got nothing to do with rose tinted glasses mate. Aulas had promised Lacazette a move. Everton know they have to sell Lukaku this summer to get the best deal. Both players City bought were available.

Soton would have sold us VVD if we hadnt fucked that up, but at a premium obviously.
Leipzig doesnt have to sell Keita, and dont need the money. If the player hands in a transfer request I'm guessing things might change, but both deals are more difficult to Do for us.

Our negotiations tactics are shite though, I agree. But other clubs have baulked at both Leipzig and Soton's demands.

And Utd have apparently missed out on 3 top targets this summer. The latest being Morata.

£70m is a lot of money for any business , yeah he's class but I'm not surprised this is dragging on, if the club can pay less for the same or similar results , they obviously will. I think we will get both Keita and VVD, it'll just take time

The danger in previous years is the 'similar' has never really been similar at all..

I thought we had turned a page with how we dealt with the Mane signing. but we are still absolutely crap.

How are we penny pinching?

I'm talking about recent history, there is a sense of going in with a derogatory offer which pisses said club off then they say not for sale at any price....

If we put in a decent offer initially maybe we might not piss these clubs off so much.

Just an opinion.

How are we crap in this situation? RBL have said the player is not for sale at any price. What do you suggest our next move is given that landscape?

Some Guinean journalist on twitter is saying that Leipzig are now split. Their President Mitzlaff is willing to sell if the price is met, whereas Ragnick is adamant that Keita shouldn't be sold.

Rangnick left as the manager of Hoffenheim when the board sold Luiz Gustavo without his knowledge and agreement.
Will be interesting to see if he kicks up a fuss regarding this.
