I wanNaby (Under the sea in an Octopus's Garden in the Shade) - Deal Confirmed

Somebody told me how frightening it was how much topsoil we are losing each year, but I told that story around the campfire last night and nobody got scared

That's because it's you buggers who are removing it to create more bloody latrines to cope with your ice cream shits!

I think the story that was told about John Terrys ma roaming the woods at night looking for fresh "meat", still has everyone in a state of horror and anxiety.

Before the news of us potentially spending £70 mill on a top drawer CM emerged, how many of us would have argued a new CM was a top priority?

I've realised how much I hate when people do this. Hate isn't even the right word, it drives me to the point of insanity. You're just there happily living your life, going about your business one day to the next. Then wham, someone flaps their gums and outright lies about what was spoken in the past, which everyone knows was spoken in the past because they were all fucking there speaking it, but the person lies anyway in order to gain some sort of false undeserved credit in the present. These are the people who when they speak are asking for a future in which I repeatedly and psychotically beat their head into a bloodied pulp against the kerb.

Does someone need a nap?

We missed hendo at crucial parts of last the season, so you can see the thinking behind the transfer.

I liked many things about our midfield last season – I think they have won most of the midfield battles (albeit with the help of hard-working strikers like Firmino and Klopp's tactics) and I don't think you could point to many games where you could say we definitely dropped points because of the midfield. (In contrast there were many, many games you could say this about the defense and also about lack of pace and penetration in the attack when Mane was out.) So in this sense, for me midfield was not a top priority – there was no glaring hole that needed to be patched up. With Can maturing, Wijnaldum slotting in perfectly, Hendo proving he can handle the DM position and both Lallana and Coutinho viable options as midfield creators, you could say we would be alright with or without Keita.

However, why should we be content with the midfield not being a glaring weakness? Why not make it a strength? It was by far our biggest strength under Rafa, when we were not too far off when we sang about the "best midfield in the world." The current crop has a good mix of qualities, but individually they are far below the standard of Gerrard, Alonso and Mascherano. So if the pundits are right about Keita's "unique skill-set" and how he almost combines two players in one, a gritty combative DM and a creative playmaker who is also good at carrying the ball forward all by himself (the one element that our midfield was truly lacking last season) then it does sound like this guy can take our already decent midfield to the new level. We don't have (and are unlikely to acquire any time soon) the best striker in the world, we surely won't have the best defense in the world no matter how hard we try to fix it. So what's our claim to competing with the best in teams in the world? It should be Klopp's tactical and motivational skill and also a damn good midfield that can outfight, outrun and outcreate almost anyone. So that's your case for spending 70M on a top drawer CM.

If Naby Keita does leave Red Bull Leipzig this summer, it will be to Liverpool, claims respected football agent Giovanni Branchini.
The Italian has represented a number of famous clients over the years including Ronaldo and Rui Costa – and is currently negotiating a deal for Douglas Costa to leave Bayern Munich and sign for Juventus.

Inter Milan want Keita and have asked Branchini to see if a deal is possible, but the agent has claimed after talking to the appropriate parties, that the 22-year-old has his heart set on a Merseyside switch.
“I really like him, he’s similar to Kante but has best technical skills,” said Branchini. “He has a release clause that can be activated from next summer. RB Leipzig don’t want to sell him now but if he leaves he will be joining Liverpool, not Inter.”
In fairness, we pretty much already knew this – although it’s now been confirmed by someone with the inside track.
Liverpool’s problem is not convincing Keita – that’s already been done – but getting his German club to accept an offer.
Their Sporting Director Ralf Rangnick is being notoriously difficult to deal with however, claiming RB Leipzig won’t sell at any price. We’ll find out if he’s serious or not by the end of the summer.

".... the supposed interest in Keita was just a cover so that we could more efficiently conclude negotiations for Lee, who was our real target. Lee is a lifelong Liverpool supporter and owns a pair of LFC pyjamas".

Let's fish for some positive vibes today.

BRING YOUR CAMPING GEAR IN FORCE.

Look what Naby liked!!!

Naby Keita & Liverpool

One of the biggest transfer stories for Liverpool fans this summer has revolved around Naby Keita.
It’s been clear for a while that Liverpool would love to sign the RB Liepzig box-to-box midfielder, however the German club have been determined to hold onto their African star.
22-years-old Keita is one of the most productive midfielders in Europe.
The Guinean star is an all-action player who can tackle, create and score goals. In scoring eight goals and providing seven assists last season, he helped Leipzig to a surprise second place finish in the Bundesliga.
The stand off

In recent weeks, officials from RB Leipzig have spoken publicly about their reluctance to sell star players like Keita.
Leipzig’s Ralf Rangnick has told press: “We will definitely not be letting any key players go. There’s nothing that will make us budge.”
As the club are backed by Red Bull, it’s widely understood that Leipzig can fend off any approach from the Reds, even if they do table a massive bid for Keita.
Player drops hint

Against this backdrop, eagle eyed social media followers have noticed that Keita has again dropped a hint he wishes to switch to Anfield this summer.
The midfielder has ‘liked’ an Instagram post linking Keita with a Liverpool move.
