I wanNaby (Under the sea in an Octopus's Garden in the Shade) - Deal Confirmed

You really need to stop this bollocks re. PL most games etc. and can players from certain leagues handle the demands.

Minutes is what counts and whether that's only in the league or in Euro matches or cup games, is irrelevant to a greater degree. Note that in Germany cup games means from R1 not R3 as for PL teams. And yes we have the LC but that's mainly for squad players until the semis anyway. Also the top teams in Germany are always in European events, and usually going deep into them.

Example. I just picked Lewandowski from Bayern, no idea how his minutes compare to his team mates. However he played 33 BL games 9 CL games 4 Pokal (cup) and one Supercup. Toal 4,021 mins. I guessed at who may have played the most for us : Wijnaldum 3,338 mins, Milner 3,437 mins and Firmino 3,463 mins.

Now what were you saying about physical demands ? Lewandowski played the equivalent of over 6 games more than Firmino.

No wonder Bobby didn't have as many goals as Lewandowski!

This may have already been covered but if he's so brilliant, why is no one else after him?

Is it simply the case that few of the big sides are after central midfielders? Barca seem to be... any others?

Style of play/type of players wanted (e.g. Bakayoko's % aerial duel was 62% vs. Keita's 23%) weighed against Leizpig's valuation for him?

(Luckily?) The other top sides looking to sign CM set their sight on other players (based on the widespread rumours)

Man Utd - Matic ("completed more key passes per 90 in 2016/17 league action (0.9 to 0.6) which led to him registering seven assists to Bakayoko’s one")

Chelsea - Bakayoko ("tended to see less of the ball than Matic, making 55.5 passes per 90 to the ex-Benfica player’s 62.2", "despite standing a full 10cm shorter than Matic, won more aerial duels on average, with 2.6 per 90 minutes compared to 1.3")

Barcelona - Verratti (different type of player vs. Keita, already 'wasted' €35 million on Gomes too)

PSG - Fabinho (Krychowiak, Matuidi, Rabiot, Verratti)

Bayern - Bought Tolisso (already have Thiago and Vidal)

The club have learned not to brief the echo anymore, however, someone at the paper (won't say who) said today that a deal could be done in a few days.

Same could have been said for Kante. We could have got him for much less than Keita.

Ha, I have to clarify that this is their personal opinion. But I'm sure it's a educated and well-informed opinion. I'd say who it was, but I could get the person who told me in trouble.

It's your fault over van dijk isn't it??

Haha I did think that when it happened. The Echo took a lot of stick for that at the time, but I heard today that it was actually the BBC's fault. LFC briefed a load of media outlets, and the BBC forwarded that email straight to Southampton. Soton got pissed off and went cryarsing to the FA.

This season the market has doubled. Kante this season would go for 50-60mill.
As I said earlier, Keita is the more 'complete' player. He's virtually a clone of Kante but much better attacking and only slightly 'worse' defending.
Kante is a CDM, Keita is a CM.

Well if this goes through Klopp won't have many excuses left.

Although we will need a

Dreamy, you really need to change your username. You've gone on to be the most negative poster on here.

I have never heard of this Lee Price either but, it seems, he is a BL expert. Though how much he is truly ITK is anyone's business :

Price, who has written two books on the Bundesliga - including a biography on Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

Price has watched Keita shine for RB Leipzig in Germany and he’s confident he will sign, then take the Premier League by storm.

Price said: “I’ve heard Liverpool will definitely sign Keita and Leipzig are now just trying to get as much as possible for the player.

He doesn't. He's was a journalist for the s*n, and currently head of PR for Paddy Power. He may have heard from ITK's from twitter twatter.

Certainly not someone you'd expect to have first or even second hand knowledge.

He was the best midfielder in the Bundesliga last season though.
With some of Kantes qualities but also very impressive with the ball and in attack.
Young abnd with an extremely bright future ahead of him.

If we dont overpay for him this summer, our chance of signing him will be gone and we'll regret it.
