Just backed us on Betfair at 15s.

Our form versus City and Spurs is currently brilliant.

City haven't won away in 2011. They're 8 points ahead of us and have to come to Anfield.

Spurs are 4 points ahead with a game in hand and have to come to Anfield.

Both have big cup games coming up.

THAT's the stuff to give the troops.

Bring. It. On. 8)

Suarez, Carroll and Ming get injured on international duty and then we're stuffed. But if we can keep what we have fit and Gerrard comes back... And we get six points from our next two games... I think we got a much better than 15/1 shout.

City crumbling fast; it's Spurs or us for 4th. 19 out of 24 pts would give us a strong chance!

I think you would have been better waiting to see how long Suarez is out for as a consequence of the game today, never mind worrying about the internationals.

City's have got a killer goal difference and a very soft fixtures list down the stretch. They only play Spurs and us in the remaining games.

Spurs, on the other hand, play Citeh, Gunners, Chelsea and us.

We play the Gunners, Spurs and City.

I think we might be able to catch Spurs for 5th but 4th is going to be a step too far.

ha ha ha, if the season had 50 games we might do it.

Thank goodness the season isn't 50 games! I wish it were over tomorrow!

Especially if everyone else had 38.

that sounds like a desperate attempt to salvage or assign some significance to the remainder of the season after we got knocked out of europe

I agree with you Krump. I haven't given up hope of fourth just yet.

Unfortunately Spurs have to play Citeh so if one of them picks up 3 points it's all over for us. Though we do have an outside chance if we keep winning and Spurs lose at Citeh / Chelsea / Us, and home to Arsenal.

Krump, JJ, Stu: this is football where anything is possible.

I believe that we can get 4th but have to continue winning consistently. The trick would be to win the games against Citeh and Spurs. Those are 6 pointers.

Of course it's possbile, its just its far more improbable.

To be honest, todays win without Gerrard got me thinking about the possibilities of this.

Carroll won't play that badly again, Suarez can get better but its already; we've got zero distractions. Spurs and City both have commitments, more so spurs.

Again, form. We are the in form team out of the three sides.

It is possible.

Since christmas, we have picked up the most points in the league alongside Utd. 23.

Thats very good form. Of course anything can happen, but we really need every result to go our way.

Stranger things have happened. We need them to loose 2 extra times after we beat them and us to win all remaining games.

I talked about this prior to Wigan and ran a poll; then we got beat by West Ham. I thought that had done it for us but Sunderland & the Chavs desperation to win Europe have given me hope again.

I still think City will stumble but it may be Spurs.

Still hoping; we are the form team of the league - long may it continue.

eh? i don't get that at all. surely it's a bonus for us that spurs and city play each other - guaranteed dropped points. for me this is one of the big things in our favour in terms of making the top 4, the other being that they both still have to come to anfield.

tbh i'd given up on the idea after we drew with wigan and haven't really looked closely at the table since, but yesterday was the first time since that i've thought it might just be possible. obv it's a given that we'd have to beat both spurs and city to stand any chance, so if you factor that in and say (fingers crossed) they draw with each other, then the gap to close is 2 pts on spurs and 3 on city.

i think 7 wins and a draw would do it in those circs. that's a massively tall order, obviously, but it's nice just to be in with a shout.
