How are you feeling right now?

Pretty sore atm,I was in hospital yesterday having nerve blocking injections in my spine, so I'm pretty achy and stiff today 😱

As for Liverpool,we're gonna piss the league, I should have read the thread first before I posted the above 😕

I want us to do the double now. CL and league. Don't really care about the FA cup.

Also want us to beat the Arse record and go unbeaten for the entire season.

And Minamoto to score on his debut and hit the ground running for the rest of the season.

All of the above are very achievable and realistic targets. Nothing lofty whatsoever.

I dont even know what to think. Looking at the table has me feeling great. 30 years of curse and knowing that we are the only club to miss the title after being in front at Xmas - TWICE! - has me grounded.

But the tension is ebbing away. It's really weird. Not until May comes along will I let myself get too carried away.

I can see you are only saying that because the nerve blocking injections were to stop you becoming a pussy like some of the others on here !

3 times. But it won't be a 4th this season.

May??? We'll have this won at City in the first week of April.

Get the month of January over and see where we are when the champions league kicks off .
I'm positive but not allowing myself to think about winning number 19 until then

I've been going over the maths constantly again and again... We have now 20 games left..City can get a max of 95pts.. for us to get to 96pts we need another 44pts that's 2.2 a game... Or we can get a max of 60 more pts so we can afford to lose 16 pts or we can lose up to 5 games.. but all that is hypothetical cos maybe City might lose a few more points and we can then afford to maybe lose a few more.. maybe 90pts will be enough to win... Yh I'd wager city losing at least one and maybe drawing a few also......

It's kinda doing my head in, if we'd won it last season Id have been overjoyed and wouldn't be so worked up.

Then I'm thinking what does it matter anyway, we'll win it and all the players will test positive for a variety of PEDs it'll be more explosive than the Russian scandal.

@Dreambeliever - thanks for setting up this thread, we all needed it, and given the responses - it has worked out well.

Currently - I feel lost, just thinking about the games we may struggle in, the game against Wolves is not one of them, I think they will be certifiably fucked after last night, as will Man City and SHU, where I expect SHU to take something from that game. I think we are there with the title, but not leaving anything to chance, and hoping that the players just carry on winning these games they have coming up. I still want us to win the CL as much as the PL, would be nice if at some point we meet Man City and knock them out if they get past Real Madrid. I think winning our remaining home games will not be a big issue, it's the away fixtures now that I think we may just falter at:

Everton, Arsenal, Spurs, City, Wolves, Watford - these fixtures concern me if we see both Leicester and City start winning games consistently.

I think so long as City do not feel hopeful of catching us, then they will continue to lose or draw games. I cannot wait to see this new Ninja we have bought, I think he will fit straight in, as the Japan team from the World Cup play this relentless type of game that we have become accustomed to at Liverpool now - the high energy precision game. I want to celebrate like @Frogfish - but am not going to tempt fate, we have come close before only for everything to go wrong for us.

Age brings the benefit of experience.

With experience can come knowledge and learning from the past.

If any team has fallen from great positions in title races over the past 31 years it's us.

Yes I know, the cushion is big. Yes I know we would need to drop points in probably 10 of our remaining league games not to win it - assuming that others won't win all their remaining games, not forgetting that City won something like their last 14 league games to pip us last year.

Yes, our form, our points total and the points total of others are unprecedented.

But, whilst I'm loving every minute of this season, I'm tempered by the potential, no matter how seemingly unlikely, of falling short. Does that make me pessimistic? I'm not sure. I definitely believe we can win it and that we will win it. But the pain of previous failures, and believe me they hurt, just about keeps my feet on the ground.

Just to add though, there's a difference between arrogance, cockiness and complacency to just enjoying and cherishing what we are seeing.

I had this conversation with my 9yr old lad on Xmas day. I told him to cherish this period, this title challenge, this set of results. Because we haven't seen the like of this in the league since 87/88. In 2011 season we ended on 52 points. We have attained that level before halfway has been reached. The 70's and 80's spoiled me as a Liverpool fan. I got used to winning. As Paisley once said "we had a bad season once, we only came second". Winning and consistent winning was normal. Then came the 90's and I wasn't prepared on what mediocrity looked or felt like. It was a bitter pill. But it made the rebuilding under Houllier more enjoyable. It made Istanbul the most iconic night of my life and it's making me appreciate even more what we are watching here and now.

God I love this football club.

Great post.

Nothing to celebrate yet. Plenty to cherish.

The only risk facing us is an injury to Mane, Salah, VVD or, right now, Gomez. But if everyone stays fit then the league title will be paraded around the centre for the first time in thirty years.

We have the best manager and the best first eleven in the world right now. It shows every week. I'm honestly done with all the fear and all the nerves. Klopps built a winning machine. 79 points out of the last 81 all whilst the other teams around us are imploding. .

My head's now wondering whether we can do it unbeaten or whether a PL and CL double is on the cards.

I'd love us to break all records in winning it. Really drive the dagger home and also upset or annoy rival fans. But the stats and records would be cherry on top. As long as we are top at the end I don't care.

Good point on injuries. Another CB injury would be the worst right now. Especially if it was VVD. I'm not as worried about injuries to one of the front three. Throughout this season and last we haven't relied totally on one of them as much as other clubs like Spurs do on Kane or Leicester on Vardy. When one has been off form or injured, one of the other two has delivered, plus Divock provides solid cover and big goals in big moments.

We need to cocoon our CB's in cotton wool though.

What’s amusing is how badly the Man City fans are taking it. They really fucking resent us right now. Theyve thrown the towel in too.

watching them last night, I think there’s a real risk of them unraveling-
Aguero will be pissed as being the makeweight
KDB was pissed as being rested
And the rest looked panicked as fuck

there’s rumours of Pep being off in summer, which if true could see them lose the plot completely between now and the end of the season. They’ve got the 2 league cup ties against United which will take on massive significance too.

I feel very good, but not overly confident. There is no point in celebrating anything. Nothing is won by Christmas, and we know we have a history of being top of the table by the turn of the year and not winning it.
That needs to change, the players need to cope with the pressure, the league ghost and being favourites.

We’re in a remarkable position, playing some fantastic football and have the best manager in the World atm. But he wont let the players or the fans think about all the stuff that we CAN win. Its all about the next game.
Focus on that, enjoy it and then see where it takes us.
The excitement and anxiety will creep in if we’re top by March/April etc.

But for now, when other fans or like when Gary Lineker tweeted congratulations yesterday and said we’d won it - I always say that its still early.

Good position to be in, but a long way to go.

Ha we’ll be champions in April.

The fact every game up til now has felt like a must win due to Man City so I think the pressure to win won’t be as great. We’ve essentially needed to win every week for a year now. Never had there been such a high bar to win a title.

For me it’s done, just a matter of when not if now.

You fucking bitch cunt, you made me cry reading that.

Telling you, just watch. We'll fuck it up or something will happen.

I’m sure Leicester City fans felt the same way and if we hadn’t gone so close last year I’d be worried but I think this team knows what is required now.

If still be confident even if City were 5 pts behind.
