Burnley have outscored us away from home.
Wolves have won as many games as us away from home.

Sheeeeeeeeeeeiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!

reason: lucas and mash

no creativity
no goals
not enough protection for the defenders
not enough service for the attackers
puts far too muh pressure on the other 4 outfield players to score

Or, more pertinently I would say, Torres, our only proven striker, being injured for huge swathes of the season.

torres has always scored far more home goals than away goals so that's not 'the' reason for the away slump.

There isn't only one reason. Or 'the' reason as you put it. Poor form/injury of the team significantly adds to it.

Apart from last season when Torres' first home goals of the season came in February against Chelsea.

I blame shitness at pretty much every level from tactics, team selection and player performances.

Kinda related to us at the moment.

Atletico Madrid during the CL group stages and their subsequent run to the semi finals of the UEFA Cup have won a grand total of two games in Europe this season.

Atletico aren't very good, yet no one seems to notice.

Probably cos we aren't either?

we've come full circle

overly reliant on a couple players
star player is injury prone
favorites picked regardless of form
good spine, hideously weak everywhere else on the pitch
scraping for CL places
ridgid tactics that are too cautious
no clue how to break down stubborn defenses

Good point, but the corollary seems to be they're very hard to break down.

I don't see that we've come full circle.

We never even began to turn.

if it wasn't for last season I'd agree with you

Did you read anything positive about us while searching for yet another stick to beat Rafa and the players with?

Honestly, this relentless concentration on any obscure fact with which to kill Rafa with a thousand cuts is getting boring.

We do have good players, we are still playing for a trophy, moves are being made to change ownership of the club and build a new stadium, we may even have a change of Manager, and we're not going to be relegated.

The club is in transition off the pitch and on the playing side, it's called a bad season. Stats like those are covered by 'we've been shit all season', we understand, really.

I now await the obligatory abuse for attempting, in Hillsborough memorial week, at some perspective.

No abuse from me. No point really.

The point was that there are other things happening other than our poor performances on the pitch which we can all see with our own eyes and rolling out yet another statistic to prove how shit we are isn't helpful.

Try looking forward to perhaps a trophy, new owners, a new stadium, maybe a new Manager and players.

But then you know this from it being spelled out first time around. Comparisons with aspects of Burnley and Wolves form just says we've been shit, we know and we can't do anything about that for the moment.

Hear, hear - good post.

Although, to be fair to all the posters, all they are doing is expressing their frustrations. Maybe taking to the extremes but it's still just their frustrations.

Let's take the RAWK approach then...

All aboard the Benitez train... Choo-choo!
