Highlights from Yesta-year's games

Thanks for sharing guys. A lot of nice memories there. I was stuck North of the Polar circle for many of those games, and we had one channel on TV through the 80's and early 90's. But we followed as we best could . Our local newspaper kiosk got is Shoot and Match and we got weekly highlights pluss big games as FA cup finals. However, to stay tuned I used to call the stadiums during matches and ask for the score. All the telehone numbers were in a FA yearbook which we got hold of. I guess my parents were pissed off of all those oversea bills. The worst was that game against Arsenal. We were a group of guys hanging around a phonebooth down town. Crazy days.

Haha! Great story! I remember Constantly looking up Teletext back in the 80's (888 maybe or 108?) I remember calling teamtalk all the time. I even left a message once "Sign Jason McAteer!!!!!" They did though and I took full credit for the signing for years - Honestly the folly of youth! 😀

Was amazing how often Hansen seemed to be at the head of attacks from nowhere.

I have to say, watching these highlights has been a 're-education' in how incredible Alan Hansen was ... Has there ever been such a gifted CB who constantly found himself leading attacks?
