We had a operating profit. That includes wages.

We've done this in another thread (Me and Crump) and I'm not going to get into it again, but we've been a loss maker regardless of the debt:

inijjer, DO NOT read that thread. it's the room 237 of sixcrazyminutes.

Rosco and Squiggles, how does paying out £40M odd in interest payments not equate to bleeding the club dry. Why the need for that in the first place?

Squiggles, Rosco is defending G&H. Personal wealth doesn't come into. If it did there wouldn't be a need for the excessive interest payments.

"Bleeding the club dry" suggest they were sucking money out of the club, which just isn't the case mate.

Like I said before, it's lazy terminology.

So I can cut you and make you bleed. But it only counts as bleeding you dry if I begin to bottle the blood and sell it.

Gotchya.

Squiggles, let me point out the obvious because you fail to see the point.

G&H made the leveraged buyout by making loans and loading it onto the club because they lacked the personal wealth.

The club have record sponsorship deals, merchandising and tv revenue as streams of income. £40M of this income was taken out of the clubs coffers to pay the G&H debt instead of being invested in the club.

Prior to G&H "ghost" investment, were we servicing any bank debt?

It should really come with a NSFS tag. (not safe for sanity)

No.

What happened to extend your terminology was G&H cut the club, it bled, they gave it a blood transfusion consisting of a little bit more blood than was lost.

How's that ?

Didn't they buy the club promising there would be no debts, then loaded debts on the club, and charge us (in intrest payments) for the privilidge of them owning us, also promising a Spade in the ground in 60 days, and when they left over 1200 days later (almost as long as our current managers last away win coincidently) the spade was never in the ground.

To some up, did they buy us, lie to us, lie to us some more, then try to shaft us and finally get what they fucking deserved FUCK ALL?

Again about this mythical transfusion ? What transfusion ? They were using the blood from one arm of the club to put into the other.

Bled dry ?

EDIT: You already know my take on that, the Yanks put more money into the club than went out in interest payments - they aren't getting it back, so I think it's hard to say they bled the club dry.

Benitez did better than them out of LFC.
2 European Cup Finals an FA Cup Final and a League Cup Final.

Numerous semi finals, and quater finals.

Massive profit on Alonso (20 Million). Lots of smaller profits too

If we never had Rafa we'd be right up shit creek.

Rafa got a pay off he fucking deserved, and only a retard would think he didn't deserve it.
Don't forget the SuperCup and World Club Championship.

Musn't forget those.

Only Everton would list those ( Everton list runners up on there official website honours list too )

*whispers*

Is was just a throwaway turn of phrase, I almost wrote 'once bitten & fucked over' but changed my mind cos it did sound as eloquent.

The yanks impact on our club fucked us up financially & otherwise, possibly permanently, that's impossible to debate, & sums it up for me.

Nah. The yanks were a disaster but you can't blame the whole of last season on them. The 40m quid Rafa blew 15 months ago on Aquilani and Johnson account for that.

Oh yeah, I forgot, we got a new lawyer and the milk went brown.

I'm not sure if the purchase of Torres and Mascherano are all coming from H&G's wallets, I think some of the funds are generated from player sales.

Torres was signed around the same time we sold Cisse and Bellamy, a permanent deal for Mascherano was signed after we sold Momo. And I think it's been the same after that, we sold before we could buy (Keane was signed after we sold Crouch).

Well I don't agree. And as I mentioned months ago, if people thought the Yanks were the reason we declined they will be in for a rude awakening in the first couple of years of NESV's reign. The Yanks financial fuck ups threatened the existence of the club, it didn't in my opinion have any impact on day to day spending because they put more money into the club than went out of it in interest payments.

Every article that has had the NESV slant in the media thus far points at us taking only one option soon. There will be little money to spend so long as we have a wage bill (based on latest reported figures) that is running at 60% of turnover. And this squad will be ripped apart very soon.

Maybe that is no bad thing Rosco, we are carrying an awful lot of deadwood.
If the process, in a reasonable amount of time, were to make us a better team and leaner financially then I for one would be all for it.

We can't that's true, but we have a lot fringe players on ludicrous contacts so we need to cut must of the squad and replace them, or negotiate weekly salaries down

I'm talking about the entire playing staff Asbo, at last count we have 50+ guys on pro contracts and like Rosco points out the wage bill is far too high related to the performances being produced. We need to move on a lot of players.
I think it's a necessity Stu.

But I can foresee a whole lot of moaning about it.
Well that is the SCM way.

Explain fring players?

To me that would be people like Patcheo Kelly Spearing Darby Eccleston Ayala Hansen Wisdom Robinson Wilson and Da La Valle?

I can't see them being on much at the moment?

Yes But the first team needs reserves,

then there is the Reserve team and the under whatevers, they are (or should be) the life blood of the club, where the up and coming promising players are blooded.

No club can survive without them??
