Henrikh Mkhitaryan - just a smokescreen

That was clever.

Er1ksen.

They are not quite similar in type but I have to say that I agree that there's no way Henrikh Hamleti is twice as good. He may be the better player at this stage, but I am not sure he'd be better value for money given the quoted prizes.

I am still very delu.. very hopeful, that we'd sign both. Imo, this attacking line-up would be a right beast:

......................................Er1ksen.................................
Henrikh.......................Sturridge.......................Coutinho

With Alberto, Aspas, Sterling, Downing, Jordon Ibe and Borini adding up the numbers.

I don't think Erikseń will make a great striker.

If Shakhtar do own a portion of him, let's get that portion - preferably a leg - bought asap. Then Ayre can just hold on to it until the other parties realise the futility of trying to keep what's left.
Not bothered by him at all. Another lightweight midfielder to add to the pack. Maybe Shakktar want £23m for their portion. If so they can f***k off.

For the record I'd be more than happy with either Erikseń or Minas Tirth. Only reason I favour Minas Tirth at the moment is because he reminds me more of Gerrard, and I've always thought Erikseń was a little overated, however he's a much better price.

Seconded, Eriksén is no Gerrard at all and though I get why Henrikh is much more in his mould, I am a bit nervous about his apparent tendency to not get involved in tackles, physcial battles etc. Not from me but from posters/experts who has seen him loads. Maybe Rurik can confirm?

I'm not being funny, but Erikseń is hardly Javier Mascherano is he?

Even less so than he is a Gerrard type obviously.

I was only commenting on your reference to Gerrard when it comes to Henrikh. He may actually have quite a few of the same traits as our Gerrard, just minus the tackling/physical game.

All these lightweight midfielders aren't going help us dominate in midfielder. None of these players seem the type that can impose themselves in games and run it which is what we really need.

That is a good article mate and I very much agree over the question marks raised with regards to Christ.

For Denmark he has not looked even nearly as good as he does with Ajax but I believe there's a very good reason. Too many Danish teammates simply are not good enough to play at the pace Eriksën does. He needs very good players around him - perhaps a bit like Allen - but then he'll also be an incredibly player for anyone. It was much the same with Michael Laudrup really. Never really excelled at the Danish national team apart from his early years where the teammates around him was top class.

Henrikh is the safer bet of the two.

PS The quoted Eriksjen figure in the end of the article is about 100% to high.

Ah fair play!

I don't agree, Gerrard and Lucas aren't lightweight, our issue isn't with tackling, it's with a lack of composure and losing the ball, I think both Erikseń and Minas Tirth would help us in that regard.

Someones been playing a lot of monopoly!

Hope this isnt true...

@Liddellpool: Shakhtar only own 50% of the player’s rights, with the other half owned by two Armenian businessmen. #Mkhitaryan

Even if it is, we've dealt with part ownership before with Mascherano, we'll just buy him outright, I'm sure the businessmen will look forward to a massive windfall.

Could it be that other clubs sort this shit out beforehand?

Why does it seem it always happens to us?

We probably rarely have as much interest in transfer sagas involving other clubs as ones involving our own so it probably just seems like it only happens to us.

You think?

But we'd surely hear it if United, City, Arsenal or Chelsea fuck up like this?

It is being reported in the media as a fuck up.
This could well be the case but alternatively it could be that all is progressing as well as can be expected in the circumstances from our perspective.

With the Aspas deal it was originally reported in the media that Ayre was dealing with the wrong agent.
The reality seems to have been that Aspas engaged a second agent to act on his behalf while still being contracted to the first.
It was portrayed as a Liverpool fuck up where as in reality I doubt it was.

How on earth have we fucked up? Did we go back in time and make Henrikh sign his rights away to a businessmen or something?

Maybe fuck up is a bit strong, yes.

But such stories emerge rather often when it comes to us. Or is it just me?
