With Alberto deal done, looks like Henri is on his way. Both having medicals tomorrow?

The rumours have been flying all week and now it appears Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is close to signing for Liverpool.
Russian news agency Itar-Tass report today that Henrikh Mkhitaryan is on his way to Liverpool for a medical via flights from Moscow and London.
Mkhitaryan left the Armenian capital Yerevan this morning at 08:27 this morning, arriving in Moscow at 11:00.
Itar-Tass say the news that Mkhitaryan is on his way to Liverpool for a medical has been confirmed to them by “sources” at Shakhtar Donetsk.
Liverpool will officially announce the signing of Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the next 2-3 days for a fee of 22 million pounds.
As we have been writing all week, the signing of Henrikh Mkhitaryan is a real coup for Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers with the Armenian bringing game intelligence and crucially, goals from midfield at Anfield.

Why are people STILL reporting people as having 'been done'.
We havnt signed ANYONE except Kolo fucking Toure.
Please stop saying 'So now we have signed x x x who will be next'
Even Aspas hasnt signed. No one has.
Stop with the 'Hes here' shit.

Wait till fuckers holding up a shirt.

He needs to pass a medical as a condition of the contract, and he is one of the few fuckers in the known universe that has a chance of failing.

Yes. The FA cant ratify until July 1st but he is signed. The contract is done and he is a free agent on July 1st so he is 100% signed.

ah ok cheers, are you sure though? i mean, cant we send him down the shops for monster munch then just not answer the door when he gets back?

I would imagine that we would have to pay the year of his contract up where we to do that.
He is contractually our player already, he cant change his mind, we cant change our mind. Its done.

So ownership issues derailing the deal. Whose is the back up option then? Bramble?

Or perhaps, this is like the Matrix, and nothing really is at it seems?

Perhaps Henrikh has been the back-up plan all along!!

*clutches as tiniest straw known to mankind*

I'm just glad we're trying to sign someone who can run with the ball. We badly needed that last year.

I thought we're primarily looking at him for his running off the ball.

Either way, Suarez, Sturridge, Enrique and Coutinho do a fair amount of running with the ball don't they?

I meant from the midfield/attacking midfield, someone who can drive forward with the ball, I got the impression he could do that?

I hope this one comes off, its a big price but worth it. Instant upgrade on Henderson for one of the top midfielders in Europe.

  1. Henrikh Mkhitaryan's Liverpool transfer in doubt as it emerges he is not owned only by Shakhtar Donetsk
  2. Liverpool's big-money bid to land rising star Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been derailed by troubling questions over his ownership.

On Thursday, Russian news agency Tass was reporting the Aremenia international was preparing to fly to Merseyside for a medical.

But official sources within the Anfield giants moved swiftly to dismiss the suggestion, and privately pointed towards growing issues raised during the negotiation process.

Liverpool thought they had secured an agreement with the attacking midfielder’s club Shakhtar Dontesk, for around £23million, but it transpires the Ukrainians only hold a PORTION of his rights.
Shakhtar share ownership with a business group that invested in the player - a situation common at clubs in eastern Europe and South America.

Striking a deal with at least three different parties has proved elusive for Kop manager Brendan Rodgers and his staff, despite their desire to bring one of the most exciting midfielders in Europe to the club as part of their summer reshuffle.
Mkhitaryan was preparing to fly to England for a medical earlier in the week, but those plans were put on hold by the confusion over negotiations.

A spokesman said on Thursday night: “There are no plans for a medical for the player.”

Him and Er1ksen seems roughly the same in ability except Er1ksen is a lot cheaper. Forget Henrikh and go for Er1ksen instead if we're looking for that type of player.

If Shakhtar do own a portion of him, let's get that portion - preferably a leg - bought asap. Then Ayre can just hold on to it until the other parties realise the futility of trying to keep what's left.

That was clever.

Er1ksen.

They are not quite similar in type but I have to say that I agree that there's no way Henrikh Hamleti is twice as good. He may be the better player at this stage, but I am not sure he'd be better value for money given the quoted prizes.

I am still very delu.. very hopeful, that we'd sign both. Imo, this attacking line-up would be a right beast:

......................................Er1ksen.................................
Henrikh.......................Sturridge.......................Coutinho

With Alberto, Aspas, Sterling, Downing, Jordon Ibe and Borini adding up the numbers.
