No no no NO... It'll end in tears

Elaborate!
How I feelWell, I think one of the main problems is the press which is a lot like the English press when it comes to Bayern. They will jump on each and every little mistake he makes, every little word he misuses or misunderstands. They're always in the focus of the media, whether they're doing well or not. Players are regularly dragged through the mud in gossip columns and they also tend to allegedly criticise each other or the club in tabloids. That's why they're called 'FC Hollywood' in Germany. Guardiola doesn't speak a single word of German, so it will be a quite difficult for him. Of course interviews can be done in English, but how often did this already go wrong. Trappatoni and Van Gaal were almost slaughtered sometimes when a quote went wrong.
But not only the press will constantl criticise him. There'll also be huge egos everywhere around him, who don't exactly have a record of beng silent. Beckenbauer, Hoeness, Sammer, Rummenigge - they all have a history of slating managers and washing dirty linen in the public.
Then Guardiola won nearly everything there is to win with Barcelona. So expectations will go through the roof. The league title will be a given, if you take into account that Bayern already have the best squad, most money and perfect surroundings. But then again Bayern want to win the Champions League more than anything else after a couple of lost finals and last year's disaster. And if you read newspapers from Munich that's exactly what they demand from him. It will be interesting if he can cope with this pressure from the beginning.
The next problem for me is that Guardiola likes to develop young talented players from their own ranks and bedding them slowly in. Well, since Bayern's youth teams aren't setting the world alight (the U19's won 3, the U17's 4 titles in the last 24 years) I wish him luck with it; there isn't any exciting talent around right now. Even Uli Hoeness publicly stated that Bayern aren't an educating and selling club and don't even want to be. And Pep's record with players brought in to Barca isn't too impressive. But that is exactly what Bayern do. Bringing loads of players in, often ones the manager doesn't even really want. He'll want to have it his way, the top dogs want to have it their way - it will be interesting to see who'll come out on top.
Then Guardiola had his system, his way of playing - nothing else. Good luck with implementing it at Bayern - he'll have to change the whole team there. And there'll be no Messi to save his ass singlehandedly when he's tactically fucking a game up.
He has to be off to a flying start, otherwise things will get 'messy' for him in Munich too.
So I'll stick my neck out - Guardiola will crash and burn.
Klopp sounds worse with FloppGood job his name is Klopp then.

Nice that a guy like Pep sees Chelsea and their vile crook of an owner as the gangster's codpiece they really are. Hope he laughed down the phone at them.
Slightly of topic, but I always like to take the number of titles a youth team has won with a pinch of salt. The best youth teams tend to suffer from the best player being promoted into the first team which makes it hard for them to develop a winning team mentality. Take for example the year we won the FA youth cup, going 3-0 up in the first leg against City. City's best player, Richards had been called up to the first team and he missed the first leg. City let him play in the second leg and he dominated our boys, but the damage was already done and we won on 3-2 overall.
Here's the Liverpool team that played in that the first and second leg.
Roberts; Darby, Hobbs, Antwi, Threlfall; Anderson, Flynn (Spearing, 88), Barnett, Barratt; Hammill (Roque, 77), Lindfield.
City's team in the first leg was
Matthewson; Obeng, Williamson, Breen, Logan; Moore (Evans , 80), Johnson, Marshall, Williams; Sturridge, Etutu.
With Richards coming in for the second leg.
Despite losing, you would imagine City would have been a lot more happy in the long run with Richards and Sturridge coming through (and to a lesser extent Michael Johnson).
Valid points all round. Let's see how it pans out and if he'll be successful there.
Pressure won't be anything new to him and he'll want full control to implement changes. He'll get respect from the players because of his achievements but is hardly likely to replicate Barca type success or dominance in Germany. Klopp will give him a run for his money and is at an advantage at the minute.
Dont buy the St Pep bullshit, he played in Qatar for 2 years to fill his pockets at the tail end of his playing days. No point in him getting on the high horse at this stage
Actually i think this is a cowardly move by him, he has side stepped the big challenges on offer to him and taken a safe job in a league where he should comfortably dominate
For the record I think hes a phenomenal manager and he will be successful where ever he goes (given time) but I still think the bitterness of the last 2 years in la Liga with all the bullshit around Real and Barca has soured him a little. I think hes gone to Germany because he doesnt want that constant media witch hunts of battling it out with a manipulative cunt like Mourinho or Ferguson, dealing with the same bullshit accusations every week. Leaving Barca when did was an admission Mourinho had gotten to him, I think this move is a result of that resentment

Getting on your high horse is not the same as getting high on horse.

No worries, I should have checked my facts anywayI wasn't question you btw mate I'd just not ever heard anything about it
On the Guardian Football Weekly podcast yesterday Sid Lowe mentioned that Bayern allegedly have 280 million euros in the coffers for transfers. How do they have that much cash stashed away without an oil baron backing them?
