Re: Gray and Keys caught out

Kenny is fecking hillarious, This comment and the other one about Sky and Women was gas!

Re: Gray and Keys caught out

Oooooh fucking hell, anyone see the news then? Andy Gray was talking off air (but with the camera recording) to a colleague about Sian Massey before the Wolves game. Basically saying was she a looker, and would you? Gray then said something along the lines of 'well obviously not'.

He's fucked. Seems like he was on sexist letch-a-thon for a few hours.

Re: Gray and Keys caught out

And Gray under further pressure now, after more revelations from the wolves v Liverpool game. Stood with that dick head transfer guy from sky news before the game, who says the lineswoman is a bit of a looker according to the camerman, to which Gray responds "I wouldn't trust him". On BBC news. Sack him!

Re: Gray and Keys caught out

Andy Gray faces increasing pressure to quit Sky Sports after it emerged he was involved in ANOTHER sexist rant at the same female official.

Sky have already suspended Gray and Richard Keys from the Bolton v Chelsea clash as the furore surrounding their sexist comments escalates.

Gray has now been caught discussing assistant referee Sian Massey in derogatory terms during a pre-match interview with reporter Andy Burton, who could now face questions over his own role in the saga, before the match between Wolves and Liverpool at Molineux.

In the footage, reporter Burton claims a colleague described Massey as a 'bit of a looker'.

'He says she is alright,' Burton added. 'Now I don't know if I should trust his judgement on that?'

Gray replied: 'Nah, I wouldn't. I definitely wouldn't.'

A member of the Sky team then refers to Massey again, and Gray is heard saying: 'I can see her from here [expletives]. What do women know about the offside rule?'

It will increase the pressure on Gray to justify holding on to his position at the TV channel.

Presenter David Jones and analyst Jamie Redknapp stood in at the Reebok Stadium for the Monday Night Football regulars Gray and Keys. Former Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce replaced Gray in the commentary box.

Sky are struggling to take the heat out of the controversy that has raged since their shocking comments about Massey before Wolves v Liverpool.

After suspending the pair for Monday's match, Sky Sports managing director Barney Francis confirmed in a statement: 'I have spoken directly to both Richard Keys and Andy Gray this morning. It has been made clear to each of them that their comments were totally unacceptable.

'Those views are inexcusable, entirely inconsistent with our ethos as a business and employer, and will rightly offend many of our customers, our people, and the wider public. They are inexcusable from anyone at Sky, regardless of their role or seniority.

We have dealt with this matter by taking immediate disciplinary action. As with any employee it would not be right to go into detail on those proceedings.

'However, they have been clearly warned about their behaviour and reminded of their responsibilities. In addition, Richard and Andy will not be involved in any way with tonight’s live Monday Night Football.'

The pair are under increasing scrutiny after their shocking off-air comments aimed at Massey were made public.

Sky's football presenters ridiculed Massey's ability to understand the offside law before Liverpool's 3-0 win at Wolves on Saturday - even though they were the correct decisions.

Speaking to each other in the studio before the game, believing their microphones were off, Keys had said: 'Somebody better get down there and explain offside to her.'

Former Scotland striker Gray replied: 'Can you believe that? A female linesman. Women don't know the offside rule.' To which Keys said: 'Course they don't. I can guarantee you there will be a big one today. Kenny (Liverpool manager Dalglish) will go potty. This isn't the first time, is it? Didn't we have one before?'

Keys also launched an attack on West Ham vice-chairman Karren Brady. He said: 'Did you hear charming Karren Brady complaining about sexism? Do me a favour, love.'

Brady has now revealed that the off-air remarks about both herself and Massey made her ‘blood boil’.

Brady told BBC 5live: ‘It makes my blood boil, if I'm absolutely honest. What really upsets me is the fact only females in our industry are judged by their gender. And that is categorically wrong.

'I'm genuinely disappointed. It never would have occurred to me that they had those views, whether public or private.

'It almost makes it worse that they're speaking when the microphones are not on as opposed to when they are on, because (they have) never really had the brass neck to say it publicly, they would only say it privately. I have heard it and I don't believe it is just banter.’

But Keys' sister Susan played down the incident, telling BBC 5Live: 'Football's a tough world, he's a consumate professional.

'It was a bit of banter, perhaps we are all getting a bit precious.

'He has three sisters and a daughter - he has the greatest respect for women.'

Neither of the men apologised on air during Sunday's Blackburn v West Bromwich Albion game.

On Sunday night, a Sky Sports spokesperson said: 'The comments reported today are not acceptable. They were not made on air or broadcast in any way but we have spoken to Richard and Andy and told them our views. They have apologised and expressed their regret.'

A leading pressure group has called for action to be taken against them while England captain Rio Ferdinand also publicly backed Massey. The FA defended the progress of women in the professional game.

The comments were labelled 'appalling' and 'medieval' by Football Against Racism in Europe, a group who work with UEFA to wipe out all discrimination in football.

Executive director Piara Powar, who this week organised a conference in Amsterdam which vowed to increase the number of women in the game, said: 'Their comments reveal the appalling and damaging sexist attitudes that exist across football.

'It is unacceptable that two of British football's biggest names are heard espousing views, whether intended for broadcast or not, that undermine and disparage the efforts of women in the game.

'In an era when women's and girls' football is the biggest growing sport in the UK, their comments are medieval in tone, unacceptable and should lead to immediate action from BSkyB.'

Rio Ferdinand said via Twitter: 'What's wrong with a woman being an official in a football game? I'm cool with it. All that counts is do they get the decisions right.'

The FA said they are proud of female officials like Massey. A spokesperson said: 'The FA has made strides in encouraging both male and female match officials to enter the game at every level, and will continue to offer every encouragement. All of our female match officials act as fantastic ambassadors for the game.'

*NSFW* What? Nahh, that picture could imply anything. Big hug from a friendly dog who hasn't seen him for years, and the (strangely naked man) is overly pleased to see him, on the edge of tears.

Either that, or surprise butsecks. No harm done.

*a little bit warm inside to finally make a thread nsfw*

Re: Gray and Keys caught out ***NSFW***

The web has treated the suspension of Richard Keys and Andy Gray with the usual respect.

Twitter, forums and inboxes have been clogged up with jokes about the prehistoric pair. And guess what, Richard and Andy - some of them were written by girls and are actually funny! The best Tweets are here:

@ciaranTduffy: Breaking News: Mel Gibson & Ron Atkinson to replace Andy Gray and Richard Keys for Chelsea v Bolton game tonight.

@sidlowe: Keys and Gray suspended for tonight's game. How ironic that they should be suspended for spouting inane, cliched, ill-informed nonsense.

@hofflimits: I heard a female Assistant Referee is going to explain the Equality Act to Andy Gray and Richard keys using condiments on the kitchen table.

@AndyDTownsend: Disappointed in Richard Keys & Andy Gray. In this day and age women in football should be given more respect, especially the attractive ones.

@rdsmithTW: Richard Keys and Andy Gray suspended by Sky - will be spending tonight explaining the "caught offmic" rule to their wives.

@JacobSteinberg: Oh the irony of Richard Keys and Andy Gray getting done by The Mail on Sunday for moaning about political correctness gone mad.

@DavidKeywood FOR SALE One massive f****** iPad, like new, barely used. Contact: andy.gray@skysports.com

@NijtheRed: Andy Gray and Richard Keys. Coming soon to Thursday night, Channel 5.

@KellyCates Phew am exhausted. Just read about something called "the offside rule". Too much for my tiny brain. Must be damaged from nail polish fumes

@JacquiOatley Filming pilot for new Women's Super League Show. Beat off stiff competition from Andy Gray & Richard Keys

@BarneyRonay: Who's standing in for keys and gray? Lots of choice at sky. There's him him him him him him him him him him and him. And claire tomlinson.

@BrightonAnna: Now available to download: a new game in which Richard Keys and Andy Gray fend off furious women. It's called Angry Birds.

@mrchrisaddison: Bigotry: Noun. The tree Richard Keys and Andy Gray climbed down from.

Re: Gray and Keys caught out ***NSFW***

Some men and one in particular also have a problem with women in football. That man is Joe Royle. who recently said: 'I do not approve of female officials in professional football. How can they make accurate decisions if they have never been tackled from behind by a 14-stone centre-half?'

He is serious by the way and not telling a joke. (Said it in 2000)

"@Andrew_Heaton: Surprised Mike Newell's rant about Amy Rayner hasn't been mentioned yet, nor can I remember as much as a stink being kicked up over it"
Newell "She shouldn't be here. I know that sounds sexist but I am sexist. This is not park football, so what are women doing here?
It is bad enough with the incapable referees and linesmen we have but if you start bringing in women, you have big problems.
We have a problem in this country with political correctness and bringing women into the game is not the way to improve refereeing"

Rumours of Neets applying to be Mr Newell's press officer could not be confirmed at time of tweet.

It was mentioned in detail in the BBC blog yesterday, he didn't lose his job but it was one of many reasons he eventually got the axe:
