Gray and Keys caught out

Re: Gray and Keys caught out

Am I the only one who quite likes Andy Gray?

I fucking *HATE* Keys, though.

Re: Gray and Keys caught out

Probably.

I think he's a decent enough pundit, and I prefer him to Jughead.

Not sure if I could like anyone as bitter about us as he is tho

Re: Gray and Keys caught out

I thought Keys did ok when he was on an ESPN show in Asia few years back.

What do my fellow Asian posters who caught the show (and I know you did) think?

I don't notice a lot of the supposed bias against us. He says plenty of good things about us too, it's not as if he hates it when we play well. And he LOVES Gerrard.

Re: Gray and Keys caught out

Don't remember it. Whenever I've seen him on Sky though, I've wanted to smack him in the face.

Football Focus?

That didnt give him much room to slate us since he just got to raed the headlines, but you could always tell he didnt like us.

For that matter, none of that panel liked us except Macca.

Re: Gray and Keys caught out

Hairy seemed to take special delight when we were doing badly though.

And the whole panel loved to stick the boot in when we lost.

You could actually see Macca turning red sometimes because he wanted to choke Rafa.

Re: Gray and Keys caught out

Haha think you mixed up Football Focus and the Newspaper headlines show Avvy. Maybe I didnt really pay attention, but I never noticed him slagging us off on the latter show.

Re: Gray and Keys caught out

I don't hate Gray as much as many others seem to. He certainly doesn't seem too keen on us but in fairness he's not as annoying and smug in his hatred of Liverpool as, say, Mark Bright is.

Gray criticises us but then we often ARE shit aren't we?

Keys and Gray dumped from Chelsea match
Published 12:15 24/01/11 By MirrorFootball Recommend

Sky Sports have dumped Andy Gray and Richard Keys from tonight's Monday Night Football show over their sexist comments about Premier League official Sian Massey.

The move is seen as a major punishment for the pair, who were recorded off-camera claiming that female officials "don't know the offside rule" and making derogatory remarks about West Ham's Karren Brady.

Sky's game tonight sees champions Chelsea go to high-flying Bolton and Sky's lead pairing would normally have been working at such an important fixture. Instead they have been handed a one match ban and a Sky statement later today is expected to confirm that any similar actions would not be tolerated.

Gray and Keys, whose taped remarks included a claim that Kenny Dalglish would go "potty" at Massey's appointment, were ridiculed by the Liverpool manager at his press conference this morning.

He began by asking Sky Sports' representative whether he was happy that there were female journalists present.

Earlier, Brady had said that the broadcasters' remarks "made my blood boil", while former referee Graham Poll launched an outspoken attack on Keys in his newspaper column.

He wrote: "The last time I had the temerity to criticise Keys and Gray for their puerile and unfair attack on referee Uriah Rennie, Keys phoned me and abused me for doing so.

"He told me I was punching above my weight and he left me with the impression I wasn’t wanted at Sky. That showed the man’s true colours.

"Between the two of them they prevent free speech and thought as any adverse comments are quashed by them."

Reaction on the web was split between condemnation, jokes and conspiracy theories.

The popular Football Ramble podcast quipped "just heard that tonight's guest on Monday Night Football is to be Mel Gibson", while on message boards fans claimed Gray may have been "stitched up" by a Sky employee in revenge for him suing the News Of The World for alleged phone-tapping.

Gray's action, being heard in conjunction with one brought by comedian Steve Coogan, led to the resignation of former NOTW editor Andy Coulson as Prime Minister David Cameron's spin doctor last Friday.

Sky sources could not initially be contacted for comment.

He didnt get much chance to, but you could sense he relished it when things were bad fr Liverpool.

Re: Gray and Keys caught out

Couldnt stand much of the panel too, tbh.

Now we have the insufferable Paul Parker here.

Re: Gray and Keys caught out

It pisses me off when Jeff Stelling leads the "Let's Take The Piss Out Of Thommo" brigade on Soccer Saturday.

Quite, especially considering Paul Merson can't string a sentence together, yet is constantly having a pop at others.

Re: Gray and Keys caught out

Someone on Twitter:

?"Richard Keys and Andy Gray have been banned for tonight's game. Jamie Redknapp is hosting. I suppose we should be careful what we wish for."

Re: Gray and Keys caught out

Yeah, apparently they've been suspended for the immediate future.

Macca is boss. I've always found John Dykes and Jamie Reeves to be really balanced and neutral as well. The rest are all rubbish.

100% agreed

Re: Gray and Keys caught out

I wonder if Ray Stubbs and Chris Waddle are checking their contracts right about now ?

Matter of taste. I find Gray at least as irritating as Bright when the subject turns to LFC, though I'd agree he's a better pundit otherwise.

BTW if we're shit I expect any commentator to say so. That's not the problem. The problem is when a commentator calls EVERY SINGLE FUPPING DECISION AGAINST US and Gray has a terminal case of that particular disease.

Well, I've listened to him for yonks and, though it's true he likes Stevie, I haven't noticed him saying plenty of good things about us. Nor does he say good things about any ref who happens to give a decision in our favour. Ever.

Re: Gray and Keys caught out

Im guessing if Redknapp does a great job tonight then Keys will be out on his ear.
