Gerrard's face after the substitution

WOW, I didn't see Gerrards reaction during the game, but that is pretty telling.

The dressing room is well and truely lost.

Btw Rafa's interview gave the reason for the Torres substitution as exhaustion.

No injury .

I can't believe anyone (although I expect Ryan to) is defending Rafa.
He also said he had to put ice on his knee, was that just because he felt like it ?
Bumps and bruises, they can be played through Krissr and you'd have to figure from Torres' reaction that he felt that too.
Anywere on the knee that might be sore, is a risk to carry on playing with it, imagine he would of carried on and got injured and out for the season, would people of been happy then, knowing he carried on playing him when he knew it could of put him out for the season ?

Rooney didn't play last week because he was a slight risk of further injury although Feguson said he could of physically played him, just that he didn't want to risk him
Ok Krissr Benitez got it spot on. It's not like we have the resources to compete with a club like Birmingham anyway.

We should be over the moon with the draw.
We had just played a massive game on only thursday away in europe with ten men for most of the game of course we are not goin to be at our best, players are gonna be knackered, and also Birmingham are unbeaten at home in the league since September, not exactly an easy team are they ? at home they have drew with Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Everton, Man City
We might as well be trying to convince someone to leave Scientology.

Well we can at least gather a few things from that.

Torres clearly wasn't injured, because he looked as surprised and fucked off as anyone.

Ditto Gerrard's reaction.

Rafa has lost the fucking plot.

Have you ever played football kriss? Players put ice on swellings, bruises etc after a game ALL THE FUCKING TIME. It's precautionary; it doesn't mean you're at risk of getting a major injury if you play another 30 mins. Torres was tired - I accept that - but this was a huge game and he didn't exactly look relieved to be taken off, did he?
And a tired Torres is fucking 100 times better than Babbel+N'Gog COMBINED !

I think that is the silliest comment i have heard on here in a while, If anyone thinks he would rather have N'gog, Lucas, Insua and the likes Babel etc over the likes of Villa, Aguero, Sylva, Tevez they must be insane

I don't know the figures, and I'm loathed to get into an arguement about it, but he's clearly spent enough to be doing better. The last two transfer windows in one way or another have been disastrous, and it's cost us.

Look.
Joking and excuse making aside.
Vs Villa away. Torres plays like a twat for 89 minutes and pops up and wins us a huge 3 points when we needed it.

Today he got taken off, and against a Tiring defence we made chances. And the best striker in the world wasn't there to finish them.

Don't dress it up, don't bullshit you don't take off your best player in a must win game. Ever.
Well why is that we created more chances when he came off ? and who was on the end of them N''gog
Kriss are you really buying the bullshit youre spreading?
Torres coming off isn't why we made chances. And you know it. If youre just going to blindly ignore the facts there's not much point in me trying to explain it to you.
Mate the fact is we created more chances when Torres came off and they fell to N'gog, you don't put ice on your knee if it's ok do you ?
It's a precautionary measure that is taken all the time in professional sport. He was perfectly ok to continue.

Ok, but do you mean you feel like he's been left short or that he's got it wrong? Regardless of the withholding of funds this year and the loss of Alonso, he HAS fucked up in the transfer market and it HAS cost us on the pitch. Keane, Aquilani (and I do rate him), Dossena, Riera, Cavieleril.. That's £60m worth of disaster right there.

It doesn't matter how much we have spent, in the last 6 years, the squad he took over compared to the Man Utd one at the time, needed alot more spent on it to take us their level

http://www.transferleague.co.uk/

This link is pretty good Ross, and it clearly backs your argument.

The difference between Utds spending and ours, is that we have bought 5-6 decent players instead of 3 very good each year. Leaving us with shifting shite for shite, while having the same type of squad in the process. It's clearly showing now.

Kriss, it does matter, because the money he's been given he's had inconsistent success with. And that includes the £60m worth of fuck ups in the last two Summers alone. That's not £5m here and there on stop gaps is it?

Shall we look at Everton? People want to talk about the difference between us and the teams ahead of us, and they want to justify it by financial limitations.

Well justify why Everton are just shy of where we are.

rafa's league finshes are something like (going from memory)

5th - resting players in preperation for the the final
3rd - finishing ahead of arsenal
3rd - finishing ahead of arsenal
4th -
2nd - finishing adead of arsenal and chelsea

and this crap season, looking at the above does this season look like a blip or a trend?

I live in hope that we are massively better as a squad than our results show and once unleashed under a new manager the £20m we have to spend to get rid of Rafa will be like signing a new player, such will be the improvement in us.

My fear is that really Rafa is working minor miracles with our mostly mediocre journeyman and we are actually punching above our weight.

All of which would be his fault, since it's his squad and his tactical approach that defines us.

An interesting summer ahead then.

Gerrard can fuck off. Regardless of what he or any of us think of subbing Torres, I'm sure N'Gog didn't miss his captain's reaction and it will have hardly done wonders for the lad's confidence.
