Gerrard New Villa Head Coach

To me, Stevie looks a bit worried about whether Coutinho can still run. “All right, Phil, let’s try this again, left foot, now right foot, that’s a good lad” (muttering under his breath “what did they DO to you at Barcelona?”)

Must be his back that is still bothering him all these years later.

The move to Aston Villa looking to be a right decision, albeit midway through the season. Besides the money available to improve the squad, it's a good test/display of his ability as a manager in terms of

"resurrecting" the career of Coutinho
nurturing Ramsey in fulfilling his full potential
pushing the likes of Watkins and McGinn towards the next level
leading the club to the next level of consistently qualifying for European football
(edit: ) bringing out the best from record signing Buendía

Quite like the "ruthlessness" in bringing in a better player in Digne despite Targett being a reliable LB since joining from Southampton.

I was just thinking about this – Gerrard has shown an uncanny ability to time things just right and make bold and calculated decisions to further his career. He is also clearly getting buy-in from his new employers; securing the guarantees of transfer funds, time and trust to rebuild the team to his liking, unlike some other managers who jump at the opportunity and then immediately start blaming the owners for not giving them what they want. For a novice manager, that's especially impressive.

For an example of a total opposite, look at Shevchenko – actually a decent coach, as he's shown in charge of Dynamo Kyiv and the Ukraine national team, but consistently making bad career decisions – from pushing for that disastrous Chelsea move as a player to now being on the verge of a sack at Genoa after just 10 games in charge, tying himself to a sinking ship and a squad totally unsuited for his ideas for his first (and now it seems possibly last) job in Serie A.

According to transfermkt his contract ends at the end of June this year.

Apparently Madrid want rid of Suarez..

Villa are in for him..

Gerrard getting the band back together..

Sturidge and Johnson are staying down their boots as we speak

Stevie G must have been reading scm back when we were dubbed Aston Villa + Suarez (and then later, to a lesser degree, Aston Villa + Coutinho) on here

Torres is looking in good shape, get him out of retirement too while you're chatting with the Madrid cunts Stevie.

I wonder if Gerrard could find a role for Joe Cole - he’s as good as Messi.
