If Chelsea want rid of Sturridge I'd be tempted. Think he would do very well in Rodgers set up.

He's growing on me tbh

I think I beginning to understand why dmish isnt so ompressed with Ramirez.

However, Coates was very good.

However, Coates was very good.

He looks like a one trick pony, he can crack a shot, which is a great trick to have, but he doesn't seem to have a lot else in his locker, his passing is poor, his movement with the ball isn't that great either. He's got a great touch and a belter of a kick.

Coates has been terrible in the games he has played. In the game against Senegal there were about 6-7 Uruguay players defending a corner and just one Senegal striker - and he managed to score. As someone has mentioned - his positioning is very poor. Make no mistake - he is not ready for first team football.

Regarding Ramirez - hope you all understand how shit he is. At most that guy is a £6-£7M player and nothing more. That whole team looked lazy to me. On the plus side I really like this team GB football team and hate the way the media is all quiet on it. They can at least unlike England pass the fucking ball around - and there is a strong hunger about them.

He has been below average this tournament but then again - so have all his team mates. I think the team that own Ramirez will have a difficult justying the fee they want for him after that showing.

MODO - been on that other site reading stuff, and seems to be worry about Suarez and all the booing that went on during that game especially directed at him. It worries me that he might crack and not give a fuck as some suggested on there. I wonder if he will be strong enough like Bekham, and C.Ronaldo to get through it all next season, as he does not seem to be the type to shut his mouth.

I sincerely hope so. He himself has said that it doesnt bother him, it just spurs him on.

I havnt seen any of the games but what i deduce from your post is:
1.I want to sign Ramires
2.I hope Coates gets in the first team right away.

coates reminds me of skrtel a couple of seasons ago, you can see he has talent and can be great for the majority of a game, but id always be worried about a major fuck up that would lead to him giving a goal away

Lawro was saying about it being a big season for him and expressing concern about his lack of pace. It never bothered Sami, but Coates is a bit raw. Skrtel has always had pace to cover up for any mistakes, Coates can be seriously exposed if dragged out the middle, as he was a couple of times last night.

Lawro is a dick though.

Sami had brilliant positional sense though. Maybe that will come with experience.

Coates doesnt haven't the pace to recover when he cocks up, is probably whs lawro is referring to. E.g. Phil jones/Richards/geln

He reminds me of a pellegrino, not the valencia version but the one we had for an ill fated 6 months

Did you watch his starts last year against Chelsea etc? Comparing him to Pellegrino, who was utter dross and beaten consistently, is beyond ridiculous.

This side seems to have a good mix. The talent, desire, natural ability and flair of the Welsh, combined with a lot of running about by the English, is looking like making us into genuine medal contenders.

I really wouldn't read much into the form shown by any of these lads tbh. In effect it's simply pre season training for most of them.

Oh and i'm so glad we didn't give any pity selections to any of the irish or sweaties, they would have deffo fucked up our chances of winning a medal.

Fair comment, but look at Skrtel now. If Coates has that much improvement in him, he'll be worth persevering with.
