Id rather aquilani and gerrard the other way round so we can dominate the midfield. Plus id rather a tricky winger on the left and play suarez up front.

It was a difficult quote to reword and more interesting than my opinion. Which is that he will probably be ok because his friend is the best player in the team. I don't think it is. Henderson was a passenger most of the games last season. I don't see why a better player like Aquilani shouldnt be ahead of him. To me it sounds like Ramirez shouldnt warrant a place in the team because of Downing.
First and foremost Aquilani deserves a chance. If he shows what I believe he has in him during pre season then there's no doubts about him starting IMO.
