From Crisis to Crisis

Let's keep our discussion short in reflecting the last 5-6 years since Rafa came in. Historians with facts, please correct me if I am wrong. This is a lazy bugger.

Rafa came in after the crisis of confidence when Houllier left. Gerrard nearly left.
He did not do much regarding the PL but won the CL, giving him a huge bank of goodwill and time.

Year 2, his PL campaign was poor, so much so we have that famous SCM thread calling for his head. He won us the FA Cup, and that gave him more time.

Year 3 & 4: Nothing exciting, nothing won except a good run in the CL and getting into the final and semi final. This was the beginning of crisis behind the scene. Our football was poor to watch. Crisis.

Year 5: This was a vintage year when we nearly won the PL and had a good run in the CL too. This was the year Rafa gave us facts. He showed that the players can play. He was given 5 years extension.

Year 6: Crisis of injuries. Crash out of CL, FA, League Cup. Fighting for 4th. Crisis calling for his head. Gerrard and Torres might leave.

Looks like LFC is a club that has crisis for a middle name.

There's been a few mini crises during both Rafa and Ged's time but the board stuck with them right until the very end.

Both look like ending the same way though, although arguably this time our squad is weaker and everything else is a mess.

However we have 4 -5 brilliant players. Keep hold of them and there's always hope.

We had a decent second year in the league in Rafa's second year. I think we finished up with around 80 points and finished third...

Agree with almost all of the rest.
