As far as I know, the FA is the only establishment on earth that takes into account numbers of followers when deciding to hand down an increased punishment. If you repeatedly abuse your free speech, the punishments should be escalated with each offence and there will come a point where the judge has to say I gotta stop you there, as the next time it's the chair for you. In that circumstance someone's right to free speech should be removed for their own good by any means necessary.

The comment about religion was completely irrelevant to what was being discussed at that point. Why lob it in at all, unless he really did mean what I and others have called him out for?
 
I've thought of a better idea to resolve this. Can't a Jewish footballer just perform some gesture that's insulting to Islam? Then both sides have been insulted and we can call it quits.

What I'm struggling to understand is - how comes a black player like Anelka make a Nazi salute?
Did Hitler not consider people of black skin as inferior race?

Regrettably there may be a religious element to this. Anelka is a Muslim and there's some support for Hitler and his ideas in some extreme Islamist circles. I don't know whether Anelka himself, or the character he copies this thing from, move in those circles, but that possibility exists.

The Comedian mocks the Holocaust continually (listen to his shows) and denies its severity ... and unfortunately, Holocaust denial is rampant in the Muslim & Arab world ...

You're overestimating some footballers intelligence there, especially Anelka's.
Im not sure for him it meant anything else than the anti-system he claimed it was.

Having said that hes always been a twat and just for that reason he deserves punishment.
When you hear most of those french players (including Sakho), they just sound like ignorant young, not that young in Anelka's case, chavs.

And its not new that this anti-sionist rethoric is seducing some young muslim lads in those french suburbs. Its more rethorics than a profound anti-semitic sentiment and for the majority of them its just due to spread ignorance about History (Holocaust in particular).

You're probably right re: anti-system, but it's as relevant as Di Canio's explanation for how he celebrated in Rome. Now, if you look at all these pictures coming out of people doing it - everyone knows precisely what it's about ... they're in front of Synagogues, in front of Auschwitz, with Israelis, with Jews, in front of the school in France where 5 people were killed, in front of a sign saying 'Juif' ... The comedian did this with every intention of it being like this - he's a holocaust denier, gets pulled up on anti-semitic charges non-stop etc ...

As for your last paragraph - this sadly has little to do with 'anti-zionist' rhetoric ... it's a bit deeper than that, which is sad and scary ... Can't be stopped unfortunately.
 
That comedian seems to be a real sneak. He's not stupid and he seems to have influence on a lot of youngsters.
As for their ignorance I think it's no excuse and they should be taught a lesson
 
I barely heard about this Quenelle thing untill a few weeks ago. Dieudonné is largely boycoted in the french media and most cities where he wants to speak or make his comedy shows now. He and his few supporters are mostly ridiculed because he completely lost his mind these last few years with all this anti-zionist propaganda agenda. He did this with a clear intention but Im far from sure about the likes of Anelka and Sakho.

I only heard about it a few weeks ago as all these pictures were surfacing ... I didn't know he was boycotted by the French media, which I don't know if I agree with, but he comes off as very popular in France (and I feel this is confirmed by the comments on various sites where I've seen articles pro/anti where he's getting a ton of backing from youngsters). I don't know about Anelka, Sakho, Nasri, Tony Parker or the other player who did it last year ... I don't know, but considering what he stands for, it just sends a chill ... That being said, he's a fucking pussy.
 
He's got support from these young (mostly muslim) scallies who didnt get the chance to learn something at school about WW2 let alone the Holocaust. Very slim support. He got barely 1% of votes in the last élections..
