And now the Scottish FA have called for the suspension of the presidential election. Come on EUFA, make a stand or do you have hidden skeletons too?
[/quote]

I think you have missed the important bi Pesam, the English FA did that first, followed by our old rivals (that was a turn up for the books).

The eponymous Mr. Quiff lives up to his name...........................Vlad, I mentioned The {English} FA called for a suspension (first) a few posts before the Scottish post - pay attention man ;-)

Are the regular football fans in other European nations as fed up with FIFA and their corrupt regime or this just a British "thing"? I haven't heard much about the media coverage in other countries.

It defies logic that Blatter & FIFA can continue when it's blatantly obvious that the corruption is endemic. I assume that the deafening silence (or amazingly the outright support for Blatter) from the various football administrations other than FIFA suggests that there are too many skeletons in too many closets and they're all hoping this blows over.

I am amazed that supporters "groups" are not trying to cajole the various FA's to help us rid ourselves of the stinking cesspit that is FIFA and start again.

I would imagine the majority of fans in England would welcome the FA taking a PROPER stance and withdrawing from FIFA. No world cup and Champions League for a season or two is a small price to pay for a clear conscience.

FIFA's senior vice-president, Julio Grondona, has accused England of "always complaining" and said he voted for Qatar for 2022 because "a vote for the US would be like a vote for England".

• Sponsors could force change
• Bernstein: FA took stand on principle

Reports had been published in the English press accusing FIFA of corruption ahead of the 2018 and 2022 World Cup votes, and former FA chairman Lord Triesman made a series of accusations against four FIFA executive members last month.

Current FA chairman David Bernstein has most recently led a bid to delay the FIFA presidential elections in which Sepp Blatter stands unopposed in the wake of the current crisis.

Grondona, president of the Argentinian FA and head of FIFA's finance committee, said: "We always have attacks from England which are mostly lies with the support of journalism which is more busy lying than telling the truth. This upsets and disturbs the FIFA family.

"To present such a project as David Bernstein presented is like shooting a penalty because it cannot be always from the same place that the insults and problems come from.

"I see it at every Congress. They have specific privileges with four countries having one vice-president. I don't know what our president has said, but we have seen the World Cup go around the world, to South America and Africa and it looks like this country does not like it.

"It looks like England is always complaining so please I say will you leave the FIFA family alone, and when you speak, speak with truth."

In an interview with a German press agency on Tuesday, Grondona called England "pirates" and added: "Yes, I voted for Qatar, because a vote for the US would be like a vote for England, and that is not possible.

"But with the English bid I said: Let us be brief. If you give back the Falkland Islands, which belong to us, you will get my vote. They then became sad and left."

Haha, bitter much?

FIFA keep complaining that the FA and English media keep hounding them BUT all the accusations that were thrown at FIFA have now proved to be legitimate. The only allegations that have not been proved YET are ones that FIFA have denied but they won't allow an external enquiry to completely absolve them - I wonder why.

No, I deem them as corrupt as FIFA - a vote for Lucas is like a vote for Blatter.

I hear England took a bit of a *ahem* kicking today ?

On my God, it's just like The Eurovision Song Contest, but with good music !

edits OK, Pesam I own up, you just put FA, now that could have been any FA though :🙂

@OliverKayTimes: RT @pkelso: Result: 203 ballots cast, Blatter 186

Nothing to see here, move along !

so what is that about 18 people had the balls, it seems to me then that 186 associations have something to hide, it's institutionalised corruption, and it needs sorting at least the sponsors are seeing through it

regards

The whole system needs reform. Blatter has the power to hand out generous chunks of money from FIFA's bottomless coffers to all the national associations, so they all vote for him because they perceive that everything is OK the way it is. The England representatives have been stigmatised as the baddies because they wanted to see improvements.

If we all send a postal order for £5 made out to S. Blatter, that might change things.

We should just apply for every Euro champs. Fuck the World Man.
Lets face it, youre only missing Brazil and Argentina, who gives a fuck about the rest.

Let's be honest about this though, if you want a lot of countries to get behind reform, you don't want England to be leading the charge.
