Fernando Torres threatens to tell 'true story' of Liverpool FC exit
by Richard Buxton. Published Thu 17 Nov 2011 18:45, Last updated: 2011-11-17

Fernando Torres has warned Liverpool fans that they do not know the 'true story' of his exit.

The Spaniard is widely reviled by his one-time adoring legions at Anfield following his £50million switch to Chelsea on the final day of the January transfer window.

Torres is likely to face his former employers when Liverpool travel to Stamford Bridge on Sunday and is anticipating a more hostile reception from their travelling supporters.

But he insists that any ill feelings from Reds fans are harboured from a lack of understanding of the circumstances which surrounded his deadline day defection to West London.

"I've no doubt [the abuse] will be a lot worse," he told Marca.

"The Liverpool fans have only paid attention to what the club made them see and they don't know the true story of my transfer to Chelsea.

"That's why I don’t hold any grudges; they will always be special to me."

The misfiring striker, who has netted just three league goals since his move ten months ago, also paid tribute to former Kop boss Rafael Benitez for his level of understanding.

He said: "Nobody has understood me like Rafa Benitez.

"I owe him a lot. He is a fantastic coach. His teams go out on to the pitch with just one aim: to compete.

"The sensation they transmit is that, with less [of a] budget, they can beat the biggest teams."

Kenny Dalglish, the current Liverpool manager, refused to be drawn on questions about Torres during his pre-match press conference, insisting "it's nothing to do with us".

Torres is coming back in the summer after Kenny steps down and rafa returns. John Henry desperately wants rid of Suarez after the whole Evra thing (bad for the brand, especially in the US) so it's a straight swap. First game of the season has a decidedly weird atmosphere until Torres scores a screamer.

Based on the transfer dealings under his ownership, Henry could have racist tendencies. Selling a racist suarez would present quite the paradox.

I'm waiting for Voronin to disclose his KGB files as well.

Suarez will leave even if he's cleared.

He's all confident now after his hair as grown back, its a Zzzfest torrez move on twat..

Only four in that team don't speak Spanish.

We anglicized the team this year with Downing, Hendo, Adam and Carroll and we couldn't even beat Swansea or Norwich at home.
So I really don't care about nationalities, if you're good enough, you're good enough.

Ha , more of this " if the fans knew the truth " rubbish . Even if he has some legitimate gripe with the club I'd guess it's with the previous owners and management . Well this might surprise you Fernandildo , we know they were shite , we know they were liars ....that's why we fought to fuck them out . They're gone , so if he or mascherano have a problem , it's not with anyone at the club now i suspect .

"True story" is probably about broken promises from previous Owners - nothing groundbreaking.

In hindsight getting 50M for him was a wonderful bit of business, so credit to Comolli or whoever got that through.

Leaving aside the fact that we fucking blew it all on Jimmy Nail.

Ah for fuck sake , now I've got "crocodile shoes" stuck in my head , and it's being sung by Gazza !!

Re: Fernando Torres threatens to tell 'true story' of Liverpool FC exit

Would they? He's hardly been amazing with mata behind him, a less selfish and better passer than Suarez.
