ir Alex Ferguson has blamed Liverpool's players for Roy Hodgson's sacking, also insisting there was a media agenda against his old friend.

Hodgson was dumped by the Anfield outfit last week after struggling to get them above mid-table since his arrival in the summer. Although his exit was widely expected, it still came as a shock barely six months after his successful stint at Fulham.

Manchester United boss Ferguson has already faced his successor - Kenny Dalglish - and seen Manchester United dash the early optimism generated by his fellow Scot with a 1-0 FA Cup win last weekend. Ferguson believes Hodgson was good enough to remain in the post, instead pointing his finger at Liverpool's underperforming squad.

"It was disappointing for Roy,'' said Ferguson. "I think there was obviously a bit of a campaign to get him out. There is no question about that.

"It's disappointing because he had the experience to do the job - but not the players, obviously. I don't know the full circumstances of how he was operating but you had the feeling through the media that he was on a hiding to nothing.''

Ah, diddums didn't get his little way then? I wondered how long it would take the old cnut to start coming it with all this. Having his mate installed at Liverpool was perfect for him. Seeing the guy replaced by someone who's taken Ginsoak on and beaten him (verbally as well as on the field) in the past definitely was not. I really, really want Tottenham to do them this weekend.

Yeah it's the players fault.

It's Meireles fault he was being used as an attacking mid and then a right winger.

It's Kuijt's fault he was put out on the left of midfield.

It's Konchesky's fault he was continuously selected.

It's Poulsen's fault he was signed and played.

Fucking Ferguson

Not exactly suprised by this. I'm also not suprised the only Liverpool manager he's liked and stuck up for is also our worst ever manager.

I loved it last week when Fergie and Dalglish could barely bring themselves to shake each others hands.

The world just seemed right.

Horsefucker has a point about the players though.

Some of them play as if they couldnt give a fuck.

If they can't play for Kenny, I hope to fuck they're bombed out asap.

I'm not going to read any of your posts unless they are written on a Lucas flag with MS Paint.

Media campaign, my hole !

There has been, but not the one Ferguson's trying to claim. When it became obvious that Roy would soon be for the chop, a fair few friends of his and/or Ferguson's in the media began to "get their retaliation in first" by giving it large about how it was all Rafa's fault.

As for the players' part in this, while they have to take some of the blame it was always going to be difficult for even the most professional set of players to keep their standards up under such an inadequate manager and coaching staff.

Sir Cunthole needs to worry about his own team and leave us the fuck alone.

As for a media campaign, IMO there was more of a campaign against Rafa than RH. Even the so called 'pundits / experts' seemed to be more on RH's side, even though he was our worst manager ever, especially when it came to squad rotation. Other managers, Sir Cunthole included, rotated players just as much as Rafa but he always got called out for it more than anyone else.

Wrt the players, we all know that they need to man up and take more responsibility, but thanks for pointing it out to us Sir Cunthole, o fountain of all knowledge...

it really hit home how roy was not the right man for liverpool prior to our league encounter with man u,the naivity of the man was there for all to see

roy talking about the clubs rivalry said something along the lines of "well i hope this doesnt effect my relationship with sir alex"

if you were serious about taking the club forward and commited to it he shouldnt be giving a flying fuck about his love in with ferguson

almost all of the media pundits and most of the managers wanted RH to stay because we were easy meat under him

Most of what he says and does is to piss Liverpool fans off.

As if he would bring on Owen against another side.

Ignore the old cunt. He doesn't believe what he's saying.

About time someone blasted the bloody players to be honest, I'm sick of oh the lads are short a bit of confidence, oh the lads are quality players...... It should get your fucking arses into gear or get out the fucking club you lazy shower of shites.
