In recent history Gerrard was unbelievable and i do miss his long range shots which were truly devastating and before him Fowler of course.
If I can ignore utter lack of loyalty then their are a couple more players weve had who at their peaks were just sensational, I remember raving with excitement about Owen in his first few seasons just because he hadn't yet ripped his hamstrings and was unstoppably fast... jaw droppingly fast.... just like another player i wont mention. A real genuine shame.
But all time fave for me is Barnes, some fucking player he was.
Mine's Patrick Berger, When i first started liking football he was the one I wanted on my shirt. Main reason is probaly because he was left footed and so am I
I loved Keegan - his all action style kind of disguised the exceptional talent of the guy. The idea of him leaving was simply impossible to fathom. That Kenny replaced him became a paradox; I didn't think anyone could replace him and was almost bitter at the idea.
Then there was Rush, Barnes and Beardo; they were a joy to watch.
Then came Hillsborough and I can't really describe what happened but I kind of fell out of love with football after that. I didn't stop following it but it wasn't as important to me. It was sparked again by a Liverpool boy but not while he was playing at Anfield. Michael Owen and that goal had me jumping out of my seat for the first time in years. He became a favourite and, because of him, I began to watch more closely and suddenly I was a huge fan of Fowler. After that came my two favourite players of the last decade - Sami and Stevie.
To pick just one would be impossible so I admire Oncy's effort to do so. Too many of them represent different things for me and I couldn't prioritise one over the other.
Fowler. I saw everything from the Kop that he did, from debut onwards, & have had the pleasure of meeting him a few times & sharing a drink, he's a true gent, which helps, but what he did on the pitch was simply magical. Genius.

Foxy, I get the impression from some of his interviews that the "gormless" impression he can sometimes create is a bit of a front, and that he's actually brighter than maybe he wants people to realise. Is that how you see it?
