I absolutely CAN believe it.
This has been coming... This is EXACTLY what LFC has been working for, for quite a while now.. This is why we bought Virgil and Allison and Fabinho. This is what Milner and Henderson and Robertson and all of them have worked their bollocks off to get to... This was always the goal.
We’re a great team now - Yes, GREAT - and this is thoroughly deserved, thoroughly earned. We are neck-and-neck with one other team for the ‘best team in the world’ title.
This is not even a little bit unbelievable.
When the final whistle went yesterday, I felt as much relief as I did joy... ‘Coz this team deserves to be Champions of Europe. This team is too good, to mentally strong to not be champions.
2005 was a miracle. If we played that Milan team again 99 more times, they’d win about 95 of them... 2005 was the most beautiful surprise ever. THAT was unbelievable.
Yesterday was very different. It was the culmination of a journey, the fulfillment of a specific plan that started the day Jurgen got here... It’s been building since day one.
Last year we probably punched above our weight a little to get to the final. Last year was probably a little bit too soon.
Not this year.
This year, it’s been about attaining, achieving, winning. This year has been about proving to everybody that we're back... This year, it’s mission accomplished.
It’s also just the beginning. This side is going nowhere, and they'll only get better.
It's a fucking good time to be a Red.
