Dirty Sanchez

I Moustache You a Question

Ayre was in Barça over the weekend.
Sanchez will not be sold.
Fabregas can leave for £30m.
Smoke screen for Spurs to chase Lallana.
All starting to make sense.

we'd all be over the moon if this happened but could it be a mistake ? how has his form been recently ? Why are barca willing to sell when he's in his prime years ?

Arsenal or Man City seem more likely. He would count as home grown as well so could be useful for City.

Yea, Utd and Arsenal will be in for him, as well as Chelsea and City as Cloggypop said. We can't compete with them financially yet.

Think he'll head back to Arsenal myself, he said before he'll play for them again before he retires.

Do Arsenal really need him is the question.

They already have Wilshere, Ozil, Ramsey, Cazorla and Arteta occupying the midfield area. Fullbacks and a centre forward is what they need tbh.

Can see City/Chelsea going in for him with City being the favourites with their playing style, but I reckon we do have an outside chance of landing him if he buys into our vision moving forward.

If we can somehow pull this signing off, it will be one BIG step to pushing for the title though. He's the kind of player we have have been crying out for since centuries, and Brendan has a system that PERFECTLY accommodates for someone of his qualities.

Fabregas just doesn't seem to be a good fit for Chelsea, and I'm not entirely sure City would be in on him either.

We should be heading the rest of the clubs in the league though, so I'd be disappointed if he went to a competitor for such a reasonable fee.

Does a bear shit in the woods? Arsene always needs more attacking midfielders, it's all he knows.

Actually none of our rivals have a pressing need for someone in his position. Arsenal have Ozil, Cazorla, Wilshire and Ramsey, United have Mata, Kagawa and Rooney who prefers to drop into AM, City have Silva and Nasri, Chelsea could probably use him if Lampard is leaving, but I doubt he would find Mourinho's style all that well. We only have Coutinho, so our need is greater.

I don't see why we couldn't make a serious attempt at this guy.
Or why he wouldn't seriously consider the move. We play the way he has been nurtured to play his entire career.
It would be amazing to help such an historic team regain it's former glories. . .
Until it's off, it's on - my jungle friends.

If he is available (I have no idea why Barca would let him go) then we should try and do a deal as long as the numbers add up. He's a great player.

is he really that much of an attacking mid ? i gather he has played more advanced at barca but didn't he play a bit deeper for arsenal ?

If we did sign him i would be thinking of having him beside gerrard and i guess henderson . Stick Suarez , sturridge, coutinho/sterling in front of them and that's pretty tasty .

Every transfer can be a mistake. He didn't have a great year form wise for Barca (13 goals, 16 assists in all competitions as per wiki still!) from the games I watched, and they were struggling to fit him in (Busquets, Xavi & Iniesta was still the preferred combo) in the middle of the park more often than not.

I have no clue why they're selling him ... but they're re-building slightly and will probably need money to try and make the process as short as possible. He's not that key to them, despite his obvious talent.

It would be a major signal of intent if we pull this off, though I just can't see this happening

I don't understand this. With Xavi a hundred years old and Thiago in Munich, why do they seem so ambivalent about Fabregas?

My guess - if the stories are true - is they need to sell to buy ... and they have far more pressing issues.

Can't Rafinha play in the middle? or maybe formation change under Enrique?

If these clubs desire him enough and think he's better than what they have, they could always try to make space for him. Van Gaal might decide that Mata or Kagawa (or both) doesn't fit his plans, while Fabregas could help City in terms of the home grown quota. Also, Nasri's contract runs out next year and he can be inconsistent, so they could always add another (and better?) threat, especially if they decide not to meet Nasri's demands.

hasn't he become some sort of scapegoat by the Barca fans for their poor season? I seem to recall him being booed, this could be a reason for letting him go?

25m for Lallana
Or
30m for Fabregas?

I know which deal I'd go for and it's not the one involving the Englishman.

I'd love this to happen. But he'll be a Gooner again, unfortunately. He'll be a massive signing for them.

I wouldn't be upset if they signed him ... they still lack a proper striker and that will continue to hurt them in the league over the course of a season ... If they signed a Diego Costa for example, I'd be far far more worried.

I thought Wenger had already ruled out a move for him?

Papers seem to think he's off to Citeh don't they?
