agger left back I'd guess
it may have been an idea to go with coates over carra if agger was at left back. the reason being he could have provided aerial cover when everton no doubt launch the ball into the box to test the keeper.

I am not happy if this is true.
I would have preferred Coates over Carra - Carra struggles these days and I fear he may concede too many free kicks and possibly a penalty.

if kenny wanted to protect the keeper (and it's a valid concern) I would have gone with coates rather than carra.

reports of carra's demised were exaggerated. and let's remember, carra didn't lose his place to agger, he (carra) got injured and then didn't get his place back when agger and skrtel hit it off. injured not dropped.
