Everton Reserves - Liverpool Reserves

it's obvious to us all that roy, because of his advanced years, has got a personal agenda against young players - he's jealous of their youth. otherwise he'd have been playing pacheco all season, a player who's already world class and has the potential to compete with messi, ronaldo and carroll as all-time greats.

Noticed the official website match report mention that Pacheco played in the central role. Coincidence or decision not to fit square peg in a round hole?

Have always been curious about Gerardo Bruna, probably due to the raves he earned during his earlier days with us. Wonder how far he is from a first team appearance.

He was moved to the right wing when N'Goo came on (Amoo off injured) but then switched back to central position (swapped with Ecclestone) about 10 minutes later.

He's certainly much more effective through the middle, if only Hodgson would acknowledge that.

I find it ridiculous that Hodgson has been bringing Ecclestone on at the end of some first team games whilst Pacheco cannot get a sniff of the squad. Wiling as he is, Ecclestone is simply not going to be a top player, whilst Patches looks as if he's got a good chance.

Thanks for the insight, Buddha. Hopefully, Pacheco will carry on plugging away and make it difficult for him to be ignored/denied the chance (fingers crossed though...).

Awww... there goes the 'new Messi' :'( Was he injured last season, Hansern? Seemed to disappear off the radar a little.

Considering Ngoo and Eccleston were brought in from lower division teams, our recent home-bred youngsters seem to be defensive players - like Robinson and Coady (previously Kelly, Darby, Spearing). Hopefully we'll have more exciting youths soon.

I don't know mate. I think he was quite a lot involved with the reserves last season aswell. He's very good on the ball and delivers a good set piece. Has beefed up a bit and doesn't get shrugged of the ball so easily anymore. If he can continue this development then there is certainly a good player in there. But good enough for the first team? Doubtful.

I really like our full backs that played last night. Both local lads, both young and with great talent. Flanagan and Robinson could be our full backs in the first team in the future.

Was going to post something similar last night. They're both really promising players aren't they?

Im certainly not saying that Roy doesnt give young players a chance. How could I when the evidence is there that he DOES give them a chance?

Im just talking about one particular player who it seems is being treated overly unfair for whatever he did wrong. Im not advocating that he should play every match but come on, nine league and three europa matches since he has even made the squad?

Bruna never earned any rave reviews with us. The original dodgy reports said he was Real Madrid's answer to Messi - the truth was nothing of the sort.

He's got good technique and he's a good set-piece taker, but he rarely showed much else. I've not seen anything of him this season however, so maybe he has started to progress.

Pacheco is ready for a start or at least a few games for the first team, that much is pretty darn obvious. Best player on the pitch against Blackpool and now this wonderful crafted goal from last night. He oozes confidence and looks very lively and dangerous.

I don't care why Roy hasn't included him but he should really start doing so.

Eccleston is not by any means the most promising reserve-player and he's been given more than one go. Amoo and Pacheco, form what I've seen, should be well before him in the pecking-order.

Amoo isn't ready. He's great at getting past people but his delivery and decision making thereon are poor. Pacheco still makes a lot of bad decisions in the final third too, something of which he has always been guilty. Still, he does have a touch of class about him and it would have been nice to have seen more, particularly during J.C.'s absences.

Pacheco needs to be playing. Simple as. We need to know if the lad can do it or not.

So we either involve him, loan him or sell him.

Is he going to have any less impact than babel?

Kelly, Ayala & wilson are kind of in the same boat. We can probably write off Darby & spearing.

We've then got suso, ince & ngoo that will be pushing for a crack very soon.

Not to mention Irwin, & a few other if the young defenders.

Amoo looks more ready from what I've seen than Eccleston.

He's not ready for a starting spot of course but I'd like to see him beeing introduced here and there rather than Eccleston that so far hasn't convinced. Apart from beeing pacy.
