Not great for integrity of any competition.
"The document also has a list of potential ownership stakes by the individual clubs in the joint European Super League company, with Real Madrid holding 18.77%, Barcelona 17.61% and Manchester United 12.58%."

Hope this happens

Growing ever more separate from the game and this would be a convenient final nail

I remember John Hall, in the one season when Newcastle actually looked like they were going to win the league, constantly going on about how there'd definitely be a super league and how a few teams in England might be lucky enough to join the mighty Newcastle in it. It's a reminder now both of how long this idea has been running and also of what a stunningly gigantic ego is lurking inside those Geordies.

I have as copy of Shoot or Match (or might even be World Soccer magazine) from about 1984 or '85 that had a big article about this definietely happening in the next couple of years, and that's 35 years ago! To be fair as I remember it, it had merged teams into Everpool, Glasgow, North London etc. but still, never say never to Arsenham Hots V Manchester Ship Canal Rovers.

I love the way football clubs and fa's now completely disregard what the actual fan wants.

Let's throw away 140 years of history and derbies etc for this horseshit.

Football is losing its soul to the devil...

...and that never ends well. Nor will this if (as it well might IMO) it brings about large-scale disenchantment among the fan base in this country.
