It would be nice to have a player who could threaten at the opposition end. If all he does is steady-eddy defending, surely we don't need to pay 10m plus to get a Bundesliga import.
He's about as good as we can get i'd say, who else is out there for a similar sort of price?

I quite like the polish LB, jeczensyzch? I know Klopp likes a bargain player so maybe he'd be worth bidding for.

Been talks of Chilwell but I really wouldn't class him as a first team player.

Maybe Mattia de Sciglio?

He's been quite brilliant, Hummels very good too. Love the way the ref ignored Chiellini's dive. The cheating cunt.

Hummels' distribution and reading of the game also excellent.

Ref has definitely let play carry on fairly well in the first half. Good to see.

I agree. Highly unimpressed with Hector in this tournament too.

He's got a pretty good engine and gets into good advanced positions, but makes nothing of it. Defends reasonably well but has been caught out a few times too.

If he were our player I wouldn't necessarily be looking to get rid. But I'm not too keen on bringing him in either. Not a big enough step up on Flanno, Gomez et al.

Schweinsteiger has looked alright - better than I expected and reasonably energetic. But his partnership with Kroos isn't as good as Khedira's and it has really impacted Kroos' ability to get in the game and dictate play. Will be really important for Kroos to find spaces in between and start getting some touches - but he is, as of right now, being man-marked out of the game.

No. No he isnt. There is a reason why he's in the starting eleven for one of the best national teams in the world.

They haven't a lot of other options. Can has played at fullback for them as well as a result.

He's decent and has played alright but this German team would have been steamrolling the opposition by a lot wider margins if so many of his crosses didn't get cut out by the first defender. In that respect he'd fit right in at Anfield.

Helluva penalty for a central defender.
How stupid was that from boateng though.

At first I thought Neuer was close to saving it but the replay showed he had no chance.
