So now that arguably out best player and striker faces an 8 game ban, how are you feeling about our goal scoring being left in the hands of our record signing? I think an extended run of games could see a different Carroll to the lollopin equine we've been witnessing so far this season. We always have the dirkalizer, and we could always move Bellers up top and bring Maxi back in on the left. I just think this would be a good opportunity for Carroll to shine and show us the beast that was giving teams a torrid time at the start of last season.

What say ye? What preferred attack would you like to see?

Throw in three wise men and a stable and he'll feel right at home.

Enough of Andy Carroll. The player we really need to step up is Dirk Kuyt

----------Maxi---Kuyt----Bellamy-----
------Shelvey---Adam--Henderson

only positive in all this really, give andy a run of games and hope he proves himself, if not loan the fella out to some shite team that are desperate for a striker, like us but a bit poorer

Nope I'm gonna stick with Carroll. He didn't turn wank over night. The upcoming fixtures are pretty good for him. He needs to score and that will give him confidence. I'm not sure where this anti Carroll feeling has come from? He's hardly played for god sake! With Suarez out for 8 games and hopefully Gerrard returning it may see Carroll getting a good start and scoring again. And calling him 'A Donkey' is purile by the way. Next thing you'll be calling Lucas 'Lucarse' or maybe refer to Crouch as 'Lurch' ......

I love Kuyt, been a great servant and a top pro, but i'm not confident about him getting us goals regularly.

He usually chips in with 12 or so every season, but this season he hasn't really looked like scoring. Lets hope that changes but as i say, i wouldn't be confident of it.

hes got 8 games to save his Liverpool career, if he cannot step up now when we need him the most then he should be sold off in the summer. Hes 23 in a few weeks and he has been at the club for nearly 12 months, this is his chance, if he cant play himself into some sort of form over the next 8 games then he is done we have to stop treating him like a special case just because he cost an absolute fortune, Kenny has defended him to the hilt despite his awful form now its time for him to repay that faith

Spurs for £20m, it would be a massive loss but realistically what use is he to us if he cant be relied upon when we have no other striking options

I dont think its overly dramatic to say that this is a make or break period for him, he will not get a better chance than this, he clearly hasnt been able to form a partnership with Suarez, thats out of the equation for a while, lets see what he can do on his own, if the results are similarly unimpressive then we should get rid as soon as

Is it 8 games from now (the fa cup and carling cup included?)?

We have to give £35m a chance. I hope and (still) believe he can make it.

Surely given the statement from the club this evening we will be appealing against the ban for Luis?
I think the camp Shergar may have to wait a while yet.

Am i the only one who thinks Suarez wont play v Wigan regardless? his head will be all over the shop... Throw Carroll in v Wigan, Suarez on the bench.

[/quote]Opposite for me. I think he will definately play.
He hasnt lost a rellie or anything, he has New Years off.

Football quickly moves on. This won't leave Suarez in 'tatters' or affect him too much. They'll be a new drama next week. He just has to make sure he's not at the centre of it this time.

if the ban is upheld then surely Carroll has to start ...if not then i don't want to hear any shite of how he's doing all that's been asked of him since signed, he's still young and learning etc , it means he's not good enough or doesn't fit the tactic so they have to bite the bullet and get rid in the summer .

And once he starts he has to take this chance , no ifs or buts about it .
