I'm guessing Capello will line up the same.

I think England are going out, because Germany have proved to be the better side thus far in the tournament.

We've got enough goal-scoring options - it's our defence I'm worried about.

If we play like a Premiership side instead of trying to match Germany because they're more glamorous opponents then we can do it, get at them, close them down, play a quick powerful game and we're onto a winner. We need big games from Gerrard and Rooney.

I think Defoe is more important than Rooney at the minute. He's our only striker we've player who has scored and looks like he might score again. Rooney's a shadow of himself and either isn't confident or that injury is holding him back.

We'll need a proper English 'fighting spirit' performance to get past this lot.

This isn't the Germany side we smashed 5-1.

Yeah agreed, I don't think it'll be a walk in the park, they're a good side with inventive players who can work a bit of magic, and as always they're strong physically too.

I think we need Rooney to get going, though I agree about Defoe, he needs to be a threat again, his pace worried Slovenia.

Blüh' im Glanze dieses Glückes, Blühe, deutsches Vaterland !

English gonna feel the wrath of Ozil and ze Germans

I think we'll do it in the 90, not least because we really, REALLY won't want a peno shootout against these. 😉

2-1 England.

Haha. Even my parish priest, who's a Glaswegian, says he'll be wearing a T-shirt with "A.B.E." on it - "Anyone But England".

We'll see, my Celtic friend(s), we'll see.

Need Rooney to fire - not sure he's essential for this game but he is essential if we're to go much further in this cup.

Klose is a big issue in my mind - Terry looks the sort of player to handle him with the exception that he maybe doesn't have the pace.

Ozil is the German's answer to Kaka - will be interesting to see if Barry can stop him.

Take care of these two and I think we've got the strike power to do the job. I must admit, however, I have my doubts that we can take care of them both.

Sneaking suspicion that Lampard is going to score in this one.

3-1 England, two late goals.

i've got a fiver on that, gerrard the first goal - 150/1

Well that was fucking pathetic, I hope the twats get docked for allowing a goal that monumentally stupid.

Would the real England stand up!

I stand by my initial assessment that England will have to raise their game significantly if they hope to beat Germany!

I thought King wa meant to be fit for today, why the fuck have we got that useless tit Upson on if he is? I don't think I've seen him in position once as of yet.

Insightful.

James has been fucking quality since coming into this team. Two brilliant saves already in this match.

Our defence is a fucking shambles

2-0

Great fucking header. Completely against the run of play.

Well in Upson.

Game back on.
