Ha...
Seriously though, all this "teams will be doing this in a few years, we'll be here, they'll be there" is just bollocks. If football has taught us anything, it's that it's unpredictable. And that's without throwing the economy and the every changing governing bodies rule books into the mix.
Redknapp could leave Spurs and besides that, they're a team without any real ability to build because players just don't play for them for the love of the fans etc, Arsenal are the same. Their best players will always move on and then like us, at times (with Torres, Alonso, Masher, Macca) it becomes about how well you replace players, whether you have a successful manager and/or stability at the club.
We could suddenly click and makes great strides. Or we could continue in this vein, lose Dalglish and build again with someone else, successfully or unsuccessfully. There's no great predictions as to where teams will be based on one season. Chelsea were the team to beat for a few seasons, as were Arsenal, and we've had successful spells amongst the years of their dominance. The same can happen with City. Despite the league being more competitive, more money in the game, etc, United are still the team to beat and no one else is responsible for our fate but ourselves. Same as it was 10 years ago.
