Macca, I'm pretty much old school. I don't want everybody knowing what I do, where and with whom. It loses the mystery. To an outsider like me, it looks like a whole lot of twitter users trying to convince each other that twitter is really important. But maybe that's just me as an outsider trying to convince myself it isn't! They certainly seem to have lost any 'normal' kind of perspective - Kelvin MacKenzie used to whine about 'death threats' he'd get on twitter, and now masses of people seem to get them, but are they more than just variations on the standard abusive tweets?? And the general level of banality and mediocrity amongst tweeters seems to make the Ian Herberts of this world go mental if they come across a mildly amusing tweeter. All in all it's a pretty poor advert for the activity.
Ayre's should be concentrating on more important issues of transfer finance for the upcoming window. I just hope that all targets have already been identified and we move swiftly to strengthen. He shouldn't be spending any time meeting bloggers and social media celebrities. However, he should be reigning Chan in, wipe the egg off his face and tell him to lighten up a bit.Apparently Ayre's now involved and he's going to meet 'Sean/DJ/Groucho Marx' or whoever he is next week! ("I'm so sorry, mate. Will you forgive us if I give you a new season ticket in your name, and one in the name of the next character you create, and also a free ride on my bike, and four packs of Paul Smith shirts in colours of your own choosing?") The bloody MD ought to have more important things to do. He'll be having chinwags with Main Standers soon about all the cockneys shouting in their ears and banging their knees with the backs of their seats. What a shambles the club is these days.
Gerry you're missing a trick. People take social networking way too seriously. They need to get out more with friends and leave their mobiles at home. Everywhere you go, some idiot is posing and taking pics of everything to upload to whatever account they have. It's just plain crazy.
I don't see any of the older generation taking pics while sitting in pubs and enjoying whatever their preferences are? They ain't pretending to drink and have a good time, they just are!Yep, my mate went out with her mates a few weeks back & posted over 100 photos on Facebook the next day. All of them posing & creating silly images by doing 'crazy' things.
It's like when people say 'I'm mad I am', no, you're an attention seeking bell end.
Stop making it look like you're having a good time & just have a good time FFS.
Apparently somebody on RAOTL has posted a picture of DJ with his kid.
Also posted where he lived and said he'll "keep an eye out for him".
Thankfully it's been taken down now. The mind boggles at the stupidity of some people.
How else are we going to put dog crap through his letter box if someone doesn't tell us where he lives? Also posted where he lived and said he'll "keep an eye out for him".

One thing that comes from this is that twitter doesn't seem to be a good environment for people posing as 'characters'. I know that 'DJ' and his media mates are now redescribing the whole venture as some kind of open joke that was only ever meant to be taken as such, but as far as I can tell the real point of the character at the time was to be taken as real - I only ever saw him quoted in forums during transfer windows as a legit authority, I never saw quotes that suggested Ian Herbert's 'very, very funny' Harry Enfield figure. So I wonder how genuinely surprising it is, in retrospect, that some twit like Chang got angry because he took it all so seriously? Did he get angry because the character worked 'too' well, or not well enough? It seems as if the motivation behind the character was changed when suddenly the response that it generated changed from acceptable to unacceptable to the man behind it. In which case I hope that's the end of it, rather than the start of a new 'character'.
Are you mental? You really thought quotes from a "perspiring football journo" who "loved false 9s" and had "unlimited credit" was meant to be taken seriously?
RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT
I'm genuinely bemused by it - someone else was just telling me how DJ was 'as funny as fuck' but they couldn't give me an example. I guess you had to be there.

Macca - there's no way DJ was ever a serious character. Whether you get the humour or not - it was all a bit of an obvious piss take.
Okay. I don't get why it's assumed everyone on here stares at twitter all day.
Oh shit. Do I need to go into hiding?!However, he should be reigning Chan in, wipe the egg off his face and tell him to lighten up a bit.
Only if you want that egg to grow on you.....Oh shit. Do I need to go into hiding?!
Spooky - you just described my ideal situation. Are you an internet stalker?Only if you want that egg to grow on you.....
As for Tom Brown. Stick to open bottles of beverages, glasses and limit yourself to a remote.
