Duncan Jenkins...odd story

It's difficult to see how this idiot can remain employed at LFC considering he's supposed to be head of PR. Ridiculous

Typical mealy-mouthed and grudging response from Ayre: "I acknowledge some of the elements you highlight were not appropriate ". Which elements WEREN'T inappropriate, then, Ian, you robotic chunk of beige??

Heh... I feel sorry for Ayre, he's in the wrong job and he's being dished some shitty stuff right now to have to sort out. An apology from the gimp that employed this chancer would have been more apt.

What is more pitiful is I can live with the club sending people round to make threats and intimidate people, it is completely against the tradition of the club, but that aside it is quite a cool thing to do.

But what is not cool, is that prick in a suit tries to act the hard man, and his victim is just sitting there pissing himself laughing. What a pitiful excuse of a club it is when it can't even manage to intimidate anyone properly.

"robotic chunk of beige" is some serious LOL.

No way back? Liverpool chief Chang return in doubt following Twitter storm

By CHARLES SALE

Liverpool’s beleaguered communications chief Jen Chang is still on leave in New York sorting out the family home after Hurricane Sandy. And there is doubt as to when Chang, who has yet to relocate his wife and children to Liverpool, will return to Merseyside — if ever.
The club apologised for Chang’s ‘inappropriate actions’ following alleged harassment of fan Sean Cummins. Chang wrongly believed inside information used by Cummins on Twitter under the alias Dunkan Jenkins had been fed to him by an Anfield mole.
In light of that, it was unfortunate that the club’s managing director Ian Ayre was a late withdrawal through illness from Aspire4Sport. The conference in Doha this week is discussing social media strategy

he can't continue on can he ? I mean he's a laughing stock , nobody will respect him anymore .

To be fair to Chang he did seem to be doing some decent things, such as his open days for players or the manager to meet forum representatives - I think we'd all agree they've been good occasions - so I hope his successor continues thinking in that kind of way. He or she just needs to avoid acting like a complete ARSE while they're doing it!

Yes something between a boring Cotton and a Technofreak looney Chang , we don't seem to be able to get the balance quite right.

It was always a surprising appointment TBF. I'm not aware that he had experience of doing this kind of work before taking the LFC job.

Oh well, on we go.

We need a properly pr savvy appointment, someone nice enough to get on their good side but ruthlessness enough to freeze them out & make them hurt when they piss us off.

Preferably someone with a decent grasp of football & of law who can make timely decisions in the club's best interest.

Ross, you fit the bill nicely.

I can see a difficulty with that, namely that he'll be seen as CEO-in-waiting. I'm not Ayre's biggest fan, but neither am I the biggest fan of the way Barwick ran the FA.

Yes, I can see that. He wasn't a natural for the FA job, but he clearly loves this club, he not only knows the club's traditional values but he's also up to date with media methods, he seems like a decent bloke and he's now specialising in communications with his own company, so it would be a pretty good fit, IMHO.
