we have over payed for downing and carroll, I think both players are vital to each other and both players can put the other players stats through the roof, downing for assists and carroll for goals.

Downing is a functional, but nevertheless very good, winger. I have plenty of faith he's going to do an excellent job for us.
He reads the game well, is unselfish, and is an excellent crosser of the ball.
