There's only one reason he'd come here, Tony.

To get one over on Rafa.

And considering Rafa is now taking football lessons from the likes of Stoke, Wigan and Wolves; it's not looking likely.

If he came back, there'd be loads of clubs which are begtter run and better financed.

I said YES but if we want to have a last chance to get 4th, we should sack him now.

Very sad days, the end is nigh for our Manager. The owners should start negociations with potential new managers now.

Capello
Mourinho
Rijkard

You forgot to add the following to your list:

Guardiola
God
Bill Shankly
Kevin Toms

Im sure Mourinho would relish the challenge despite the myth he'd only come here with a massive transfer budget.
Capello has always been my number 1 but he said England would be is last job. Maybe LFC would be enough to change his mind
I like Rijkard's football. Ajax and Barca attacking football tradition and after Galatasaray he would come to LFC in a heartbeat.
And you continue to bang on with this mantra despite the myth that you've got a clue.
Must be a very well hidden myth...
It's in his own mind.

All I know is the fact Mourinho would only go to a club with a massive transfer budget is a mith.
Prove me the contrary.
Ok, granted he made his name at Porto with a modest side, BUT

1) Goes to Chelsea - budget, large as fuck, salary pretty mahoosive.

2) Goes to Inter Milan - budget, as above, salary, well, ya know !

Hmm........
Inter hasnt got a bigger budget than LFC. Mith

Give me figures about Inter transfer budget.
They're better run, thats for sure. They would never give full control to their manager.
They dont give silly wages to average players and got 40M Euros + Eto'o for Ibrahimovich. That meant business but Mourinho was already there. They used that money to buy Sneijder and Milito. Money very well spent.
Having said that doesnt mean they have a bigger transfer budget summer in summer out.

We now will not be making Europe "after our next win" so it will not make much difference.
Mourinho has spent 80 mill £ this season. Thats a decent budget..
Bollocks. He spent a bit more than the 40M Euros he got for Ibrahimovich.
Sneijder, Milito, Lucio and Motta cost a bit more than 50M Euros.

People on this site are fond of "Net spent" transfer budget. Mourinho net spent less than £10M last summer.
In 2008 he spent more. Net spent circa £30M.

£40M in 2 seasons.
Exactly like Rafa.

Well it's a shit poll then. I don't "want" Benitez sacked. I want him to win every game left this season, make 4th and lift the Europa cup.

I want him to win the league next season. I want his tactics and ideas to click and for him to get the rewards for the ridiculously hard work he puts in.

Yeah, I know. Yet I still hold hope. It's the same way I go into each matchday thinking this is the one where we spank someone. I should know better, but I can't help it.

I felt the same way during Houllier's last two seasons. I so wanted the man to succeed that I couldn't bear to see him go, though deep down I knew it had to happen.

Mind you, I don't think we're there with Rafa yet.

I always thought I was the last person who was thinking that maybe Houllier would (should??) get ONE MORE season, even though, when I saw the headlines that he was being fired, I was glad really, but a bit sad for the man himself.

I have that feeling now with Benitez, stronger than I have ever had it with him before.

I was a huge fan of Houllier, but with Rafa there is something different. This season has been shocking but even if he never cracks the league, he gives us a great shot at the CL.

At some point in 2007 I said I'd happily take 2 more CL trophies in the next 6 years without winning the league. Of course I want the league more, but while we have Rafa we should take advandtage of it. Of course since then we haven't come close, but I reckon there's another one coming if we stick with Benitez.

With our luck the next manager will be shit in both competitions. I really don't see a realistic option out there that I would prefer to Rafa.
I had the exact same thing with Houllier. I didn't want him to go, I wanted him to have one more year, but I was relieved when he was sacked.
It's not the same now for me. I won't feel bad when Rafa goes. Maybe that's because I really liked Houllier and have just never warmed to Rafa.

I really, really like Rafa. I can understand why some don't, but aside from the frustration at some of his decisions, I have a strong affinity to his personality and manner.

I just can't stand his lack of passion and his smug aloofness.
I dunno.

If I'm honest, I couldn't really give a merry FUCK about the Liverpool manager's "manner" or "personality". Or his football "philosophy"
(unlike so many of the mewling cabbages quacking on in extant about fucking cunting Barcelona/ Rijkaard/ Guardiola/ whoever)

I just want him to win the title.

That's it. No more. No less. I don't care how great you are in interviews. How humble/ arrogant/ quiet/ unassuming/ loud/ measured/ gobby you are. How much you love your fucking kids. I don't give a shit how you like to play football. I'm not fucking interested what your vision is, or who your fucking inspiration was.

Win. The. Fucking. Title.

Rafa's a top bloke, i find any L'pool fan who dislikes him as a person a touch odd to be truthful.

Yes he's stubborn and what have you but he's a good, genuine man who loves LFC to bits.

That neatly explains your Gerrard issues. Oh wait, no it doesn't. It makes you seem a bit stupid.

Turned into the usual waffle towards the end, but the Carragher-Gerrard-Winter stuff was interesting.
Indeed. Although his tendency to write paragraph after paragraph without really saying anything is quite staggering. Great for filling column inches but not much good for anything else. He should come with an interpreter who summarizes his waffle into bite-size pieces.
