Joey Barton is a dickhead, if theres an opportunity to hurt someone in a tackle he'll take it. It worked for him and his team against Arsenal, but its more than a Scott Parker or Gerrard like enthusiasm and enjoyment of tackling, he is sadistic.

He actually meets a lot of the criteria for sadistic personality disorder.
